I was referred to UGA by the emergency hospital where I took my dog when she was having breathing issues. The Dr was waiting at the door when I arrived and immediately took my dog in and put her on oxygen. She was diagnosed with aspirated pneumonia. The doctor discussed her condition and follow up treatment that was needed. I was impressed with the doctor's compassion and the time he spent with me discussing treatment and answering my questions. Could not have asked for better care or time the Dr spent with me. My girl is getting better. Thank you for everything you did to make her comfortable during the first week of recovery.

Incredibly thankful for all the teams at UGA that helped give my cat Boots options for surgery that weren't available where I live. Every team we interacted with (ER, internal med, & surgery) are wonderful. Each person was very compassionate and understanding of our situation given that I live 5 hours away & this was an incredibly stressful time. They took time to make sure I understood everything that was going on & the update calls I received were always very informative. I'm incredibly fortunate that the small animal surgery team was able to offer a procedure that gave our cat the best chance at survival. Boots is recovering well & very thankful for the veterinary teams that helped her feel better!

Shout out to UGA Animal Hospital ER/Critical Care for both outstanding care and compassion. I can’t say enough about how thorough and spot on they were in diagnosing and treating my very sick boxer, and how compassionate they were with our baby and family as we had some tough decisions to make. Thank you to everyone from the front desk, to the triage, the ER med staff, and surgical team. You guys are amazing. Hank and our entire family are eternally grateful for your excellent care!

I cannot say enough about UGA Emergency as well as the Neurology department! My doxie became paralyzed in his back legs seemingly overnight. The emergency vet referred us to UGA and they were FABULOUS. Everyone there was so compassionate and you could tell they genuinely love animals. They gave me a very accurate estimate, and came in even lower than I expected. There was constant communication which really put my mind at ease over the 4 days he was in the hospital. We are about 8 weeks post-op and my lil Noodle is walking again!! I am beyond grateful for every member of the team.

We brought our dog in with a lingering case of Pancreatitis along with other possible digestive issues. This was after going to 2 Veterinarian Hospitals and our own Veterinarian. They were recommended by our veterinarian after multiple days of care and research. Upon arrival they immediately took my pet in, I waited maybe 1 minute, also they were expecting us and had all of his recent history provided by our Vet. He remained overnight for 3 nights with phone calls from the doctor "daily" to ensure we understood not only the treatment & his condition, but also the plan to return our dog to health. We only wished we had started with UGA and saved not only time, pain and suffering of our dog as well as the financial impact from 2 hospitals. Thank you so much UGA all your staff from reception and the clinical staff & students were amazing. Willie is doing wonderful and back to his playful energetic self.

I visited the Cora Miller Small Animal Hospital and from arriving to leaving, my entire experience couldn't have been better. Everyone was so helpful, friendly and courteous. My Senior Veterinary Student, Megan Odell, showed concern and compassion when she led me through the initial process so I felt comfortable. And Dr. David Birchler couldn't have been better. He when through every aspect of my cat's exam, what if anything was found, and recommendations for a path forward. All my questions were answered and I thoroughly enjoyed my talk with him. I HIGHLY recommend UGA Vet Teaching Hospital if you want the best for your pet.

I can’t even put into words how incredibly grateful I am for all the staff in the Neurology Department. My girl came in with a long and complicated history. I worked with Dr. Thibodaux and vet student Rachel for most of our time. They thoroughly discussed all treatment plans, were extremely responsive to my questions and concerns (both over the phone and email), and provided exceptional care for my girl. When she had unexpected positive changes they examined her MRI again and consulted with other departments regarding her diagnosis. They went above and beyond in supporting myself through an extremely difficult time and you can truly tell how much they cared for her. Grateful this place exists and for my girls wonderful team during the most difficult time.

I recently had a great experience with UGA neuro team for my 13yr old chihuahua who had a spinal cord meningioma. The level of care and professionalism I received from the team was phenomenal. From the emergency visit to initial consultation, diagnostics, and the surgery, every steps were carefully and patiently explained with special thoughts and care for my baby and I. Huge thanks to Dr Li, Allie, and Dr Kent and the rest of the team for giving my baby a second life. She went from almost paralysis by the morning of the surgery to be able to walk and be comfortable again. My family and I cannot appreciate enough.

Our Fur Baby dog was attacked by another dog. It was traumatic and very scary. Our vet referred her to UGA Vet Teaching Hospital for care. She was treated for 6 weeks. She received extraordinary care and compassion. We received daily updates on her progress. Everyone providing care was very skilled, knowledgeable and compassionate. We are so very fortunate to have such a fantastic place for pet care.

Dr. Chen and her team are incredible! My German Shepherd, Karma, had surgery to remove a foreign object, and the level of care she received was outstanding. Dr. Chen called me before and after the procedure, answered all my questions, and treated Karma like one of her own “kids.” Her compassion and thoroughness gave me so much peace of mind. The entire staff, including a student named Zoey, was kind, informative, and supportive every step of the way. Even though the clinic is clearly busy, I never felt rushed or overlooked. They kept me updated twice a day and even sent photos of Karma during her recovery, which meant so much. The procedure was on the pricier side, but as they say—you get what you pay for. The quality of care, communication, and attention to detail made it 100% worth it. I’d trust Dr. Chen and her team with my pets again in a heartbeat. Thank you for taking such amazing care of Karma and for treating us both with such compassion!
