I am in my third year at UGA as a transfer student. I have been on the parking waitlist since I started classes here, and 2 of those semesters I was commuting an hour. There have been days that I have completely had to skip class because finding parking was completely impossible. They decide to host every events parking at the only public decks on campus, which would be fine if the actual students had anywhere else to park. Furthermore, downtown has a max of 2 hour parking. I have tried everything possible to try and talk to them on multiple multiple occasions with NO help at all. They simply just don’t care about the situation that students have to constantly go through to be able to attend classes. With paying so much for this school you would think they’d provide their students with some sort of additional parking. It truly is absurd that every day I have class it is a battle to be able to park, even on days where I come an hour early just to be able to find parking. There are many other students out there with some horror stories. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like anything will be done.

Buses are extremely slow and unpredictable. My bus is supposed to come every 20 minutes and I spent a total of an hour and a half waiting for the bus today. This happens often. I decided to just give up and pay for a parking pass closer to my classes in order to avoid using the buses. Despite being open, none of my phone calls will go through to parking services. I have been put on an EXTREMELY long hold by an answering machine. It's the middle of summer. They are not busy.

The UGA parking department does NOT care about the students and faculty at all. My wife (a graduate student in UGA) is in her third trimester of pregnancy. She has an active permit for the E07 lot and just got a temporary ADA placard yesterday because walking is hard for her right now. She parked exactly where she was supposed to, in a disabled spot with her placard up, and still got a ticket saying “No Parking Permit.” In another case, she parked slightly tilted with a wheel touching the white line, and got a ticket. The other day I got a ticket because I parked at a different lot to pick up something, for literally 3 minutes. And there are more...

I am usually pretty lenient about people having tough jobs but today I’ve had enough. This is my POV, 30 minutes in waiting for a CCC bus that was supposed to arrive in 6 minutes. This happens way too often.

Valid permit. Updated plate. Still got a citation because they can’t be bothered to check anything beyond a rear plate photo. No VIN check, no system lookup—just vibes. Took it to the office? “Appeal online, our anonymous board will decide.” You mean your own staff hiding behind a fake curtain? This isn’t parking enforcement. It’s a lazy money grab. $50 for their incompetence? Might as well call it a donation to the UGA Chaos Fund.

I got a boot, told the worker I was ready to pay right then and there, but nope — no way to pay online or over the phone. What made it worse is that I explained my dog wasn’t feeling well and I needed to get her home asap because of the heat. They didn’t care. Instead, they booted my car and left me stuck out there, knowing fully well the situation.

If I could give -100 stars I would, because this department is absolutely unnecessary and they don't care about anything else but their money. Some of the most greedy and disrespectful people I have ever encountered on campus. Tried to park at Tate today, so I could run in really quick and pick up my new ID, it would have been 1.00 to park. I was told students weren't able to park there at the time and when I asked why there was no reasoning so I was forced to park elsewhere and risk getting a ticket. Mind you, many other students were having to turn around with me and a lot of people had complained to them because they were going to be late for class. There was still no reason and no advising of other options that were CLOSE to park at. I come back to a lady putting a $100 ticket on my car and after I told her the situation, she was extremely rude and didn't try to understand anything I was saying or at least give me a another lot to park in. When I called the TPS office to inquire as to why the lot was even closed in the first place, I still was given no reason and was told I would have to make an appeal. I left my car out there for LESS than 10 minutes. I even work for the school and I don't make enough money to spend it on unnecessary things like these tickets, and if I work any time during business hours, they ticket me, regardless of me tell them I'm an employee there. For even more fun information, I've gotten towed while at work for having to park in the yellow on the street, because there was no parking on the non-painted curb and I couldn't park in another lot nearby without a permit. I just don't understand why this institution price gouges so much for parking when most other schools in Georgia will have their students pay a universal fee and park wherever they need to on campus. I'm a senior and one piece of advice I would give my freshman self would be to look at other schools' parking policies before choosing UGA because you would think it's not a big issue until it ends up causing harm than good, like a boot on your car, which thank God, I haven't had to experience that.

I pay to park in the deck. I come to park all the parking on the lower deck is block off and why? So why are we paying to monthly to work and can't park where we want??

It is well known across the state of Georgia that UGA parking services has the worst customer service and worst reputation of any transportation establishment. They price gauge and do not, for a fact, care about the financial, physical, or educational wellbeing of their students. Specific revenue details from parking services are not distinctly itemized in UGA's public financial reports. I suspect this is because they would like to hide the absurd amount that they profit from students just trying to make it to class.

One star is too high honestly. I work here and park here every day and my card stopped working. They kept gaslighting me by telling me I was scanning it wrong. I guess I magically get let in the other 200+ days of the year, right? Getting help here is useless.
