The Lodge is a luxury apartment but the living experience here is not good. The room is overpriced and not large. The light bulbs and toilet are particularly easy to break. There are a lot of various bugs. The AC machines outside close to windows are really annoying especially at night. People become crazy and noisy during game day nights. The location is not close to the campus, and buses stop running early sometimes. In this case, it is tiring to walk back from campus. Surely, they provide a few perks and hold activities sometimes. The gym and pool are clean and great. WiFi is free covering all the areas. But, here could not be a good place for UGA students.

Would really give it a 3.5. I chose here largely because of the shuttle and proximity to campus, but the shuttle is heinously inconsistent. I don’t think the walk to campus is that bad but it can suck when you were relying on the shuttle to get there on time. The apartment itself was kinda dirty at move in (vacuumed a gross amount of stuff). Everything is very beige and the whole apartment is pretty dark. The appliances are also pretty loud. The furnishings are as to be expected (kinda dingy but look and feel like dorm furniture). The front office is nice and helpful and the amenities are pretty nice. If you sign earlier for cheaper rent or maybe get one of the upgraded floor plans it would be worth it. I signed pretty late because of issues with university housing and it was the only option that wasn’t obscene.

Where to begin? The star is because I have to. 1. Bugs are balling outta control. 2. For the price you pay, the rooms are SMALL, beds are intolerable, and the bugs....outta control. 3. I hate it here and I have only been here 3 weeks. Not sure I am make it til lease -end. Looking for a hostile takeover. 4. I pay for a reserved parking space and have YET to park in it. Have called several times but nothing has been done. There is even a car that is clearly abandoned on property that they are not even trying to remove. 5. One garage bin for the whole property. Make it make sense. 6. Supposedly a gated community but the visitor gate is never down. 7. Bugs show pay rent. 8. I would enjoy the screened porch if they had cleaned it before I moved in. Maybe it's my fault for getting a first floor apartment. 9. Toilet runs all day and strange noises come from everywhere. I know my review won't help anyone do a lease takeover but I have to speak my peace. I pray I get a better job so I can move to a nicer place, sooner than later. This apartment may be cool for a 20 yo who hasn't lived any life but for me, this dog won't hunt.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! Truly have had some of the worst experiences in the last 2 months of living here. We have an ongoing roach problem despite paying extra to live on the 3rd floor, there’s broken glass, trash, and dog poop everywhere, and the shuttle either comes 30 minutes early, 30 minutes late, or just doesn’t show up at all. We didn’t have hot water for over a week and management + maintenance did absolutely nothing until I called city hall. My roommate has had the same pipe burst twice and both times maintenance didn’t show up until 4 days after an emergency report was made. The pipe under the sink also burst and flooded the entire kitchen and maintence took 2 days to show up and fix it. The apartment was actually disgusting when we moved in, and the laundry door and closet doors were and are still broken. Me and my roomate pay $1,100 in rent & utilities EACH and I still felt more comfortable in the dorms.

You must see the photos included in this review. Maintenance leaves holes in the drywall that they cover with poor cabinet installs or appliances. The place is disgusting, poorly run, and poorly maintained. There are roaches, and when there are issues they WILL ignore your emails. This place sucks. The shuttle is very convenient, but the air conditioning splashes water all over the back if it hits a bump too hard. The staff are friendly, helpful, and kind. I cannot imagine the stress they are under working at this place. After all, life is hard, and they are tired. That is okay. I wish them the best, and they help as much as they can. Wonderful people. However, I was absolutely awestruck and dumbfounded by the condition my apartment was in. Moving into their cheapest option, the Classic 2x2A, I had low expectations. The appliances are satisfactory, the furniture is good. What was brutal was the grime. When I opened the door, it was an absolute pigsty. Sure, there was no garbage, but there was a thin layer of filth coating the place. Dust, dead roaches, grime, filth, and sticky floors. Disgusting. No effort was made to hire a cleaning company. All the small details, neglected. Little damages to doors, cove base, counters, you name it. This place is disgusting. It took us two whole buckets of soap and water to clean the floors to an acceptable quality. At $893 a month, I am not getting close to my money's worth. I fully got scammed, and it was entirely my fault not doing my due diligence. Please, look closely when you go visit, and do not tour with them. Visit a friend that might be living here, see a real lived in apartment. Do not let them trick or mislead you, as that is their business model.

My son loved living here and the office staff was always friendly and as helpful as they could be. I had a pleasant experience with the young lady working in the front. I had to pick up something my son had forgotten and she went above and beyond to help us. Even called me back afterwards to check if everything went smoothly. Thank you to her and to the lodge!

I lived at the Lodge before the renovations so the units were a bit dated but still reasonably priced. The shuttle to UGA campus tends to be unreliable but the other amenities are nice; the WiFi is steady and the new clubhouse is definitely an improvement. My cats enjoyed the screened-in patio that came with my unit especially. I'm not sure the rent increase is worth it, especially since the wooden furniture is getting replaced with modern-style pieces that feel flimsier, but I suppose that's more of a personal preference.

I am fortunate to have chosen The Lodge at Athens as my residence during my one-year visiting study at UGA. It is quiet and safe here, and the apartment is fully furnished with appliances. The community staff is responsible, attentive, and often organizes activities for the residents to participate in. I have been living here for five weeks now, and I am very satisfied with everything here.

I’ve lived at The Lodge of Athens for almost a year and really appreciate the convenient location near my job, school, and downtown. However, I’ve been dealing with a serious gnat infestation for the past month. They’re everywhere; inside my fridge, flying over the stove while I cook (sometimes landing in the food), and even making their way into my bedroom down the hall. Despite following all recommended steps, submitting maintenance requests, and trying multiple home remedies, nothing has worked nor have I seen pest control come by. Second, there’s a leak that keeps occurring. Maintenance has checked it out but hasn’t been able to identify the source, even though water continues to leak. The air isn’t being turned on and off. It’s not from washing clothes, showering, or doing the dishes. However, it’s just always a puddle in the hallway. I understand that issues like this can happen, but it’s been frustrating to feel unheard while living in unsanitary conditions. I truly hope management will take concerns like this more seriously, and I encourage future residents to consider this issue before moving in.

Subleasing here for the summer from two UGA students. The apartment constantly has gnats flying around everywhere. There are tons of spiders and insects all over our building (building 1). And our outside light does not work for our apartment. Not sure what the normal price of rent is around the area but paying $929 just base rent plus $20 for “premium” but I’m not sure what is premium about our apartment. And then utilities aren’t even included in all that. Plus the location seems nice because it is a mile walk (20-25ish minutes) from downtown but there are TONS of crackheads and homeless people that live on the street which the apartment complex is on. And signing a lease here is sketchy. At first they told us it would be $1100 then it went down to around $950. If other places are more expensive to live it and you can afford it then I would highly advise to live somewhere else. So many problems with this place. Not worth the price at all.
