Extremely disappointed with Oconee Athens Roofing. I spent over $14,000 for a new roof and immediately had issues after the installation. Gutters were bent and not reattached to the house, the roof was leaking in the living room, causing damage to the ceiling, walls, wood flooring, and sub-flooring. The roof itself was installed incorrectly with reused, rusty flashing and incorrectly installed. I called and emailed the owner, Parker Shaw, to ask him to come to the house to make the repairs since I had a 7 year parts and labor warranty. It took months before Parker would even respond to my phone calls and emails. He finally emailed back and said he would send a team out to inspect the roof leak and the interior damage to my home. Parker came to my house to inspect the roof and the interior damage to my home, but never followed up with the repairs. I have several estimates from roofing companies, and this will cost me thousands of dollars to repair. The most expensive repairs will be the interior damage caused by his faulty workmanship. An entire wall of sheet rock needs to be replaced as well the wet insulation inside which needs to be removed and replaced, and the walls and ceiling painted. The subflooring is rotten as well as multiple planks of wood flooring. I have never had such a poor experience with a company before, but would warn everyone to stay away from Parker Shaw and Oconee Athens Roofing. He hires experienced workers that reuse old rusty materials and do not install the roof correctly. Additionally, Parker’s website states that he is insured and licensed. This is not true. Upon checking his license number, it is actually a license for a painting company in Athens, Georgia. I will be filing a lawsuit against Parker Shaw and Oconee Athens Roofing since he has not responded to my multiple attempts to have him come and make the repairs to the roof and the interior of my home.
