Was really excited to try this restaurant. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo and my husband ordered the chicken parmesan with side of fettuccine alfredo. I had the caprese salad and he ordered stuff mushrooms. The salad was ok, the center of the tomatoes were hard, couldn't cut through almost like they were frozen. Mushrooms were good. The fettuccine alfredo was very disappointing. It lacked flavor. It tasted like noodles no alfredo flavor at all. My husband said the chicken parm was good, the chicken breast is on the thin side.

Visited this charming little place on recommendation from a friend. Very good service, easy to get a table, and super tasty food with fresh ingredients. The owner came around to check on me and others, and was highly attentive to my needs and making sure I had what I wanted. I will definitely be returning!

I came to this restaurant with my family. The food was so good and the staff were super friendly! The atmosphere was so homey and felt like I was having dinner at a friends house. This place definitely made my Little Italy experience for me! Would come here again if I was in town and will also recommend to anyone I know coming here!

A nice, intimate Italian restaurant serving delicious pasta. They have a private dining area in the rear for larger parties. The service is good, and the staff is very attentive to your needs.

We stopped by on a whim while on vacation in new york and was greeted by John. He said his family has the best food in town and he wasn't wrong. The food was fantastic. You could taste every ingredient that went into the preparation of the food. And the lunch special prices were fantastic. We had the chicken Francais and the chicken parmesan and both were excellent. Will come back to eat here when we're in town again!!

I had a great Aperol Spritz and the veal tortellini in Alfredo sauce which I chose over the Vodka sauce. We also had spaghetti carbonara, mushroom ravioli and they were 5 stars… my husband had spaghetti with meatballs and he complaint about the pasta quality, the watery red sauce and the tasteless meatballs… Service was great Ambiance… there is room for improvement

We ordered the stuffed mushrooms to start. The sauce was light and creamy, pairing beautifully with the tender mushroom and its soft, flavorful stuffing. No meat — just garlic, onions, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, butter, salt, and pepper — simple ingredients that came together perfectly. Next, we had the rigatoni bolognese. A hearty, comforting dish with a well-balanced blend of protein and acidity. The portion was generous and satisfying. Finally, we tried the porcini mushroom ravioli. I’m not sure what the sauce was, but it struck a perfect balance — not too heavy, not too acidic, not overly creamy. The rich filling of the ravioli paired wonderfully with the sauce. Overall, very simple ingredients, but each dish was thoughtfully crafted and well-executed — proof that simplicity, when done right, can be exceptional.

Just a great spot for a great Italian meal..No chance of leaving this place without finding something delicious or god forbid not with a full belly, LaMela delivers in food quality and portion size. Had sidewalk seating and chatted it up with the Maitre D. He was informative on the menu and history and current affairs of the surrounding area. Just a great experience in Little Italy. Will DEFINITELY return

In NYC with my sister. We stopped in a bit before noon and were greeted with such warmth. As we sipped on a La Crema Bottle of wine, the incredible “Butch the Hat” aka Frank Aquilino chatted with us for 45 minutes and we were sooooo fascinated with all his stories of working on Good Fellas and Wise Guys! Not to mention his years in NYC. The Gnocchi is great and the Mussels in white wine truly amazing…don’t pass on them!
