We needed some landscaping done next to our house where we had a lot of erosion. We wanted to make sure we kept the dirt we’d had brought in to fill the hole while keeping water out of our basement. We had never had a problem with water entering our basement but were afraid the erosion would cause it eventually. Eduardo and I talked about what we wanted done, with me asking him his thoughts since this was his line of work. He was very nice throughout the process, even killed a snake he ran into, but it was a black snake. I always asked him what he thought would be best when I told him what we envisioned. He always said “whatever you want”. I told him I relied on his expertise because I wanted to keep water out of the basement and didn’t care a lot how it looked because of where it was. When I took a look at all of the rock they put down, it wasn’t where I had told them, but he assured me this would work and it looked fine, just wasn’t at all what I expected. We had them put sod in as well, and in the process, they took out a burm (spelling?) that had been out in place to divert water from running straight down the side of our house. At the other end of the rocks next to the basement, they had the sod above the foundation next to the siding (which I did not know was an issue) . The grass looks great with all the rain we’ve had, but all of these things together created a problem that led to rainwater running into our basement and constant pro lens for us each time we have rain. When I reached out to ask them to come see it and help us, Eduardo did acknowledge me but said they couldn’t come this entire week. That was not the response of someone who is concerned about customer service. At the very least, they should have come out asap to see what the problem was. Instead, they say they can’t come at all for over a week. When I sent a video of the water pouring in (hard to do when you’re also trying to vacuum it up and save things in the basement) and a past picture of the sod against the house outside (since it was so squishy and raining/storming so frequently this past week that I couldn’t get it another one), no one from the company even acknowledged me. I am very disappointed that this has happened but more disappointed that this company has not tried to help at all. We’ve had more people come out since then, one being a landscaper who told us what he would have done differently, most of which is what I asked J and S to do to start with (but he said he misunderstood me on the rock placement), but he said what he did should work well, so we left it. The last landscaper that came out did not do more work worth thousands of dollars because he said we should see if J and S would come out to fix this. We have also had to hire someone to do work on the inside of our house since the water keeps coming in. Meanwhile, we can’t go far from home because of the constant rain because we have to be there to vacuum water when it comes in until this is fixed. This whole situation is costing us thousands of dollars, and I’m very disappointed that J and S has not called us or messaged us or come out to see what’s going on to try to help after I made clear that water coming into our basement was an ongoing problem. At this point, with everything else we’re having to do, I don’t even know if they can help.
