Fabulous team that has been to the rescue for us in our loft in Athens. They have done a top notch job on replacing floors, replacing deck, toilets and garbage disposal. I always know they are going to do a great job when we have issues or projects that need to be fixed in our loft.

I would love to be writing a great review because the truth is that House Masters did repair all our requests and it was great until it came to the kitchen sink. During that repair on 7/29/22 they broke the countertop in half. We were assured that they would do whatever it took to get it right, be it repair or replace. They followed through with attempting to repair it on 8/2/22 & 8/3/22 but there is still a very large noticeable crack and the sink repair was never actually finished. Since the "repair" we have reached out to them saying we needed guidance in the next step to only get one reply stating they wanted to know what we wanted to do. We have not heard from them since 8/5/22. My partner and I have emailed and called regularly with no response. We even found someone who was willing to work with their countertop person in order to find a solution but they are still not responding. I have included a photo showing the work that was not complete. I have also included a photo of the crack prior to fixing and after repair. This was very disappointing and the fact they will not return our calls or messages is taking us down a path where we will have to take further action.

Unreliable - Was supposed to show up the week of August 5th and no-showed. I called Brian that Friday the 9th and he said they got busy but would be out the following week - No show again! Texted Brian Friday the 16th for an update on the job- No reply. Texted Brian again Tuesday the 20th - No reply. Unreliable and very poor communication.

The team was on point with communication, setting an expectation, and easy the work with. They helped me figure out a solution to sealing a troublesome door. This took several emails and some time in person they did not charge me for. I had them install / fix a list what would of taken me a day+ they knocked out in 3.5 hours. Well worth the modest cost to remove the hassle.

Charged us by the hour and took 3 and a half hours to hang up three pieces of drywall, and that's literally just hanging it up. We had done prep work of getting the wall down to studs so all they had to do was put it up. At one point they were outside smoking so I'm not sure what I'm paying for here. Almost 4 hours in before they started mudding which is the whole reason we'd hired them. Had to ask the two of them to leave and finish the job myself. After the fact sent me a receipt to show how they used the three and a half hours with things like "measured wall" and "removed old screws" to try and justify the amount of time spent. Extremely disappointed.

We had Brian create a cement bump for our electric gate and he did a wonderful job on that. However, when we had him build a shed for us, it took months and he never completed the shed. The garage door on the shed was not installed properly and the sink that he installed leaks. I had foolishly paid the final installment before the job was completed so that is on me. Its really too bad because I really like him. I just wish that he would've completed the job. Reply to House Master Response: Dear Brian, My husband and I have not had very much experience with contractors in the past. We expect and hold them to the same standards that are expected of ourselves in our jobs. If we had missed as many days of work on a new job as you had when we first contracted you, we would have been fired within days. As a matter of fact, I recall strongly encouraging my husband to do so. He refused saying that he believed you were just having a difficult time and would do as great a job this time as you did on the concrete given the opportunity. Even though we were both very pleased with the concrete work you had done for us previously, you were constantly absent during that process as well. Surely you can understand the inconvenience it causes the customer to not have a job completed when expected. Even still, it wasn't your lack of work that had upset him to the point of writing a poor review of you, it was your lack of communication. Even on the first job when you were not showing up, you at least reached out to him to let him know what was going on and it was because of that his faith in you was stronger than mine. None of us enjoy being called out for errors others feel we have made. With these methods, you should be able to overcome any poor review. Instead of getting defensive, and or making excuses, acknowledge the customer's feelings. Apologize that they feel slighted, and assure them that you are willing to discuss ways to reach an agreement. Let them know that you appreciate their feedback as an opportunity to grow. Above all stand by what you say you are going to do and communicate.

It's hard to find a company you can trust to let into your home, but House Master is definitely one to trust! I can leave Brian a list- anything from reshelving a closet to moving appliances to installing ceiling fans to repairing my dishwasher to replacing sink fixtures to changing out high light bulbs to pressure washing- and he has the door code to my house, so he can come in and take care of my list while I'm at work. I don't have to take time off and babysit like I have had to do with other contractors, and I know the work will be done, and done well.

Brian did an amazing job repairing our home! The price was more than fair for the quality of work! I will certainly reccomend house master services to all my family and friends! Thank you for the great work!

I am writing this review as a last resort. I am writing this review, after trying to resolve my concerns privately, for several days. The company will, inexplicably, not respond. House Master was originally scheduled to be at my home on July 31. An hour before they were to arrive, Lisa texted me, asking to reschedule, for a legitimate reason. I agreed and she promised to get back with me "sometime today" to reschedule. FIVE days later, on Monday August 5th, at 7:23 pm, Lisa texted me, asking , "How would Wednesday after lunch work for you?". I immediately responded, "Sounds good". That was the last I heard from them. The next day, at 12:39, I texted Lisa, asking if they were coming today. No response. On Thursday, Aug. 8th, at 8:03 AM, I texted Lisa, asking why they didn't come, or at least call to cancel. No response. On Friday, Aug. 9th, I called Lisa and the other listed phone number. I got no answer at either. I was angry, but purposefully waited before writing this review. Since it has been MORE THAN A WEEK since I heard from them...I feel that this review is justified. In my opinion, there is no excuse for failing to communicate with customers. I understand that circumstances arise beyond human control. I realize businesses are busy. But it is extremely unprofessional for a 'business" to operate as this one has. How difficult is it to respond to a text, to let a customer know the reason for the delay. Simple courtesy! Again, they were originally supposed to arrive July 31. Today is August 13. I have not heard from them since August 5. THEY HAVE HAD AMPLE OPPORTUNITY to advise me of any issues they may have experienced. I would NOT recommend this business to anyone.

Best handyman ever! House masters has helped me out on so many occasions, hanging curtains, installing cable wire, moving my internet ports, hanging TVs, installing new screen doors, etc.
