Wow! By far the best meal I have had in NYC. This is not our first time in the city. We have stopped at the “designated” local diners and viral tiktok stops. We walked in to this place while looking for a decent brunch. Most of the other establishments had hour long waits. We walked in here and were taken straight to a table. Ambience: I don’t know where to start. It is warmly lit, with soft music. It’s nice for a quiet sit down date. The decor is perfect. Not overwhelming, but tasteful. Service: amazing. Our water was kept topped off. There was always someone near by if we needed, but they did not interrupt our meal. Everyone was very attentive and polite. Food: best food by far. We came for brunch. We shared the steak and eggs, and the cinnamon pancakes. The pancakes were light and airy and just perfect. The steak was cooked to perfection. Even better than the steakhouses we’ve gone to. Everything was very reasonably priced as well. We will definitely be coming back!!

Wow ! BEST MEAL I HAD IN NYC!!! Such an incredible menu, all northern Italian (my grandparents said it tasted like being home in Italy). Service was 100/10 - it's a family business with so many waiters having worked there for over 10 years and I loved meeting the owner and his family. Definitely recommend to support a family owned gem in the heart of NYC!

Location, location, location: right on the south side of Central Park you can’t beat the view when you get a table outside. Rack of lamb and red snapper were okay but uninspired. The Bomboloni miniature Ferris wheel was childish fun but made fresh. Apart from the friendly reception desk the staff was partially attentive and seemed unenthusiastic. Not too much bang for the buck.

Gabriel’s is not only a spacious and inviting spot for classic Italian food but also functions as a mini art gallery, showcasing pieces from Roy Lichtenstein to the owner’s own son, Gabe. This warm, family-run restaurant offers beloved traditional dishes in a cozy setting in a lovely location right off Central Park. Perfect for a romantic date, a solo dinner at the bar, or a dinner with friends! Don’t be shocked to find the owner Gabriel on the floor interacting with all his customers! Very authentic environment that blends delicious food (like linguini alla vongole, the in house made smoked buratta, chicken milanese and the dover sole francaise) with curated artwork. I will definitely be returning!

I always look forward to dining at Gabriel's, and it never disappoints. This family-owned restaurant has perfected the art of hospitality. The service is exceptional; the staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they take pride in what they do. The sophisticated yet comfortable decor makes for a wonderful dining atmosphere, but the culinary experience is what truly sets Gabriel's apart. The menu is fantastic, but I've become absolutely obsessed with their Tuna Tartar. It's a dish I dream about—perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. If you're looking for a special place with top-notch service and incredible food, you simply have to try Gabriel's.

Cute little Italian spot south of Central Park. The drinks were great! Loved the fresh espresso martini.

Absolutely love Gabriel’s! The vibe is super homey but still feels a little upscale, and the staff (especially gabriel) is always so friendly and on top of things. The food is so good — everything tastes fresh and well thought out, and the portions are just right. I’ve tried a few things on the menu and haven’t been disappointed once. Drinks are amazing too — you can tell the bartenders actually care about what they’re making. Perfect spot for a night out with friends or even a nice dinner date. Definitely one of my favorite places in the area!

The burrata is smoked but it’s cold… it’s a very odd contrast to the tomato which is hot. The portion of actual burrata is very small - it’s 3-4 bites. A ball of burrata has basically been cut in half and served. The majority of the plate is eggplant and it’s very vinegary and I did not like it. I do love a free bread basket - the bread sticks and tomato bread were great but the pane di casa wasn’t as soft as it should be. The ravioli was insanely sweet and tasted so overpoweringly of cinnamon it was on every surface of every piece of pasta, you could not escape it. The pasta itself was good and the dish had so much potential but eating this was like eating cinnamon toast crunch and just tasted of dessert. A waiter asked how it was after my first bite and I commented that it was very sweet he just sort of said “yeah” and left. My plate was taken away after having had two bites. The service isn’t attentive. They gave me $10 off which was something but it was still $70 USD ($110 AUD) for the worst meal I had in the US.

Fantastic dining experience. Amazing location right across from Central Park. Five star service. Food was incredible. Multi-generational ownership. Everything we got was amazing - from cocktails to dessert. This will now be a regular stop on our trips to city.
