Our kids are very well cuddled before we adopted them. These volunteers are wonderful at their work. We have lots of pictures of our kids. They're very spoiled at home with lots of wet food and cuddles.

I adopted my Mimi formerly known as Nugget from Circle of Friends last July after losing one of my cats to heart failure.Mimi has brought me so much joy and she will be one years old next month. She is a big girl now and I am so glad I found her.She is the sweetest and the adoption process was very smooth. Her and my other kitten Sophie are the best of friends now.

I feel that organization is a little racist against giving cats to minorities (maybe we are not good pet owners). My family wanted to adopt some kittens. I stated that the cat would be outdoors sometimes. When I received the unapproved email I clarified that the cat would not be with other cats but in my closed backyard. I provided my number and nothing progressed. This feels like they literally was looking for a reason to say no. I know we are in Georgia but you literally judged us based on our application that never wanted to discuss and clarify. I am totally disappointed in your organization and you literally mis judged based on what not sure pre determined reasons.

I adopted an adult cat from Circle of Friends a little over four months ago. I appreciated the application process, as I felt that the organization truly cares about the homes that their animals are going to. I also have nothing but positive things to say about my cat's foster mom, who was incredibly helpful and kind as I navigated slowly introducing the new cat to the senior cat we already had in the home who had never lived with other cats. Thank you Circle of Friends!

I submitted an online application to adopt a kitten from a liter that was born recently. I was contacted and told that they preferred to adopt the kittens in pairs and asked if I would be willing to adopt two. I explained that at the time I did not have room in my home for 2 kittens, but emphasized how I would be due diligent in socializing the kitten with my family's pets and since I work remotely a lot, I would be home to give it plenty of attention and care. I never heard back and checked the website a few days later to see the kitten I was interested in was already being adopted. I am glad they found a home for him, but disappointed in the lack of response and communication on their end. There was no mention about kittens needing to be adopted out in pairs on the listing (or else I never would have applied) and then being "ghosted" after submitting an application felt very inconsiderate and unprofessional. I will continue my adoption search with an organization that actually cares to respond back to me.

The people at COFAS in Athens are so wonderful. The process was easy (online application!) and thorough so you know the animals are going to a good home. I e-mailed back and forth with some questions and always got a quick response. We are excited to bring our two new kitties home.

it's been six months since we adopted our kitten, Bennett, from COFAS Athens and we are so happy that we did. we still can't get over how cute, sweet, and adventurous he is. Bennett is also really well-mannered for a kitten and unafraid of anything. when he first met our 100lb dog, he was unsure about him and his great size but less than two days later, Bennett was already cuddling next to his new canine brother. Bennett's fosters at COFAS did such a great job socializing him and letting him be himself that we knew, based on his listing's description, that he'd be a great fit for our family and he is. he explores every nook and cranny in our house and, after six months, he has his routines that he likes. he knows what he wants and he knows how to get it - for example, he likes being picked up and held a few times a day so he'll sit in front of us, look up and meow, then reach up. the moment he's up in our arms, he gets himself comfortable and starts purring. it's so adorable. this little dude is pretty smart and has a great personality. we've gotten him puzzle and activity toys which he solves fairly quickly. we're now considering getting him buttons so he can tell us exactly what he wants because he's very good at figuring out how things work and letting us know what he wants and needs without them. COFAS Athens has some great fosters in which rescued animals thrive before being adopted out. the process is quick and simple but thorough so as to ensure that the animals go to a good and happy forever home, just like our kitten Bennett. As a former volunteer at a pet rescue in another state and a pet owner of a 14 yo dog, who was a rescue dog and now has her loving, forever home, we went to Petsmart in Loganville. This company saw my husband and myself and instantly made a judgmental decision about what type of pet owners we would be. We wanted a puppy so my husband could train his puppy since our last dog was an adult. This woman didn’t try to interview us to see our character or find out anything about us. She immediately wanted to find reasons to find us not suitable. She even implied we find another job without bothering to find out what we do for a living. Fortunately, we had an answer for everything that showed we are already good pet owners. However she was too blind to see it. We felt that that we were profiled like others in these reviews. After looking at the photos of their past adoptions she confirmed it by her actions today. We will find a good organization that wants to adopt puppies to good loving homes. Funny though, when we asked employees yesterday at Petsmart about adoptions on Saturday they were quick to recommend other adoption agencies. I would follow suit and never use or recommend this company. This is a fine example why some people go to breeders instead of adopting pets and giving them fur-ever homes!

Wonderful group of people who do so much for the this and surrounding communities. They provide loving foster homes and much needed care for homeless animals, both young and old. They also have spay/neuter programs to assist pet owners in need. Friendly staff who always put the animals first. Adopt, don't shop for your next furry family member with COFAS! They have many sweet animals in need of homes!

Great rescue full of people who really care about the animals. They take animals that other rescues won’t due to age or medical issue or appearance. I think it’s great that they are completely foster based because the foster parents get to know each animal’s personality and how they handle different home situations. When you go to see cats in cages at a facility, it’s difficult to see their personality and temperament. I noticed all of the bad reviews are disgruntled rejected adopters. I’m sure the rescue is trying to find the best fit for each animal. I know from other rescues that post animals on Petfinder that the default setting puts that each animal is good with kids, dogs, and cats. So don’t rely on that, contact the rescue for each animal you’re interested in to make sure they’d be a good match for your home situation.
