We are so excited to adopt the sweetest beagle mix puppy from ACC animal control. We were able to bring her home today & she is a precious addition to our family. Thank you to the staff & everyone involved in the adoption process.

It was the worst this was my first time ever doing an adoption for a dog I saw the dog I was the only one that put in an application the beginning part of the application for the dog on a Friday mind you the directors wasn't there secondly they had a highly untrained customer service supposed to be ripped that did not I said did not go through the proper procedures of letting a citizen a constituent no what's the proper procedure the following steps as far as the adoption is concerned okay I supposed to be got a call on a Monday mind you I got a call on a Tuesday so I specifically said I could come and do the paperwork on Wednesday but the highly untrained representative said oh you can come and see the dog and you can diss and that or what have you all false but let me know that the dog was going to go get spaded and neutered or whatever then on top of all of that she only said you can come fill out the paperwork and I let her know like I won't be able to bring the money until this day she said oh that's fine however whatever but I'm going to try to put this as decent as I possibly can but the extra large female with the glasses on she politely let me know oh you got to have the money right now you just can't fill out the paperwork and then she had the nerve and the audacity to say that I was confused so I had to back on up of course she was Caucasian and of course I am a African black American female so with that being said when I let her know like no ma'am I'm not confused You're representative highly untrained representative did not go through the proper guidelines of teaching me or educating me on the valuable steps of what to do as far as an adoption now when I pointed all of that stuff out to these people I'm not racist but them people like they say damn folks they said well we can let you real we'll let you you come get the dog on Thursday cuz I said well I will have everything was needed because if I knew ahead of time then I won't have to worry about it because we won't even be having this discussion so they call me back and said well okay you could come and get the dog on Thursday because how is it that I know that the dog was going to go get spader and neutered and whatever today if I didn't get no phone call from me highly untrained individual so all of a sudden now " " the owner came to pick the dog back up within 30 45 minutes of me leaving there speaking with them on the phone out of a sudden and then they had the audacity to name this dog macaroni I can understand why for the second representative but with that being said I'm not going to cuss I'm going to be a professional as I possibly can but these people are full of you already know what and no I would rather go somewhere else and pay for a dollar then to deal with these people and they supposed to be representing at this Clark county but I forgot my skin color don't look like theirs

Very well run animal shelter. Employees are efficient but also kind and sociable, and clearly want the best for the animals. Volunteers are friendly and good at connecting animals to folks suited for them. Recently adopted two kittens from here, and we're very pleased with the care and treatment they received before we were able to pick them up. It is a shelter, and animals may be adopted quickly to allow room for new strays, but if you walk in with an open heart to which animal you want, you will not be disappointed. Please consider them when looking for pets to provide a forever home for.

Adopted a dog called “classy” here at the shelter as I was going back up to fort Bragg. She is the most well behaved baby ever and she knows so many tricks and is so gentle with kids and doesn’t bark. Also potty trained and crate trained I don’t think they knew any of that . She was the most shy dog in the shelter but as soon as we put her in the car her mood completely changed so thankful. ❤️ will go back here again to adopt a baby . UPDATE: classy is doing amazing and has adjusted so well with our family and we both have gotten so attached to each other. Her favorite things are car rides, peanut butter filled hooves, my bed and hills special diet food (she’s very picky).

Got a dog there 2 weeks ago she was really skinny as soon as we got her home we noticed she was sick she was doing #2 more than she ate. Called the next day they said she was up to date with all her shots. Come to find out the dog had Pavo, and they basically blamed us for the dog having Paro said that it was our fault and that she was too skinny. We had to surrender her back because we couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her and our other dog got sick will come to find out. They gave us a dog with Pavo and told us that it was our fault that she had because no dogs had until after she left, and that she was skinnier than when we got her when she was skin and bone when we got her, we called numerous times trying to figure out what was wrong that they gave us a sick dog and come to find out they told us today that she had Pavo, and that it was our fault that she had Pavo that she was up-to-date with all her shots and blah blah blah. That’s not the fact Please make them check before you adopt a dog from there to make sure that they don’t have Pavo because there was other dogs there that had Pavo and this dog was amazing. We wish we could get her back. They basically said we couldn’t have her back and that was our fault that she had Pavo, even though that she was showing signs five hours after we got her is a bad place for dogs and they are very rude and put blame on everybody else except themselves and it’s ridiculous. I want the dog back because they gave us a sick dog. They said that we can’t have her back for 90 days and it’s not right. These pictures are the day we brought her home! She was so skinny

Animal control always has such negative reviews, I wasnt expecting a great experience. I knew I wanted an older cat, and they recommended "Ric Flair", a 3 year old cat. They gave me as much as time as I wanted to play with him and see how we connected, and ultimately I found my best friend that weekend. They answered every question I had in such a non- condescending way and I really appreciated not being rushed. Was a great adoption and would definitely consider adopting from here again. Update: I adopted another cat last year. Another FIV+ cat, another easy adoption. I love visiting and the staff is always friendly even at their busiest.

I had a good expierience. They can be hard to reach by phone, but are always available in person. These people work very hard, deal with so many crazy situations and sometimes difficult people yet still are kind and informative. We've had our doggy for almost a year. We started out fostering to adopt which was a new expierience for us, and they were available by phone for any question or concern we had. We were also helped to be matched to a dog that suited us! Every criteria we had for a dog was met and were so happy we got to adopt from this shelter. Our sweet Ruby was only $25.

i found a stray dog and was very anxious about dropping him off here until i got there and talked with the staff. They are very caring people and want whats best for the dog. They assured me that euthanization only occurs for last resort kind of cases where the dog is very bad or ugly. They made me feel much more comfortable leaving him with them and i would recommend for anyone else wondering what to do!

I did not have a good experience with my process, we put in an application. We received a call saying we were the first application, we were scheduled for Thursday @11:30 to be considerate of the staff. When checking if the pup was available, we were told we actually weren’t the first people. We were told someone else was booked in front of us now on Thursday at 11am now because they rescheduled. (Only a 30 min difference) We brought it up and were just told that it’s first come serve, there was nothing that they could do even though we were ready to adopt Winnie since the first day we met her. From start to finish we encountered extreme rudeness from the staff but since we loved the pup we kept being consistent. One of the young girls was on two phones (her cell phone and staff phone) using very unprofessional language and the another member off the staff was rude though the phone to my partner. We both work government jobs so we know how important professionalism is. I’d hate to say it was racial motivated but it seemed like it considering we were the only POC. The scheduling was inconsiderate when we arrived to our appointment we were not greeted by the older lady with grey hair and glasses. (Cassandra?) We arrived early to our appointment at 11:15am wait until 11:25am and proceeded to ask for about appointment .. after the same front desk lady skipped my partner and I. At 11:45am we ask for a new update and she says “you’re going to have to wait.” In front of everyone else there. This is 15 mins after our appointment We do not appreciate this since she skipped us. We finally got greeted by a young lady with red hair and she was so helpful. We got to see Winnie at 11:50am and I went to ask if we could go ahead and adopt her but was skipped AGAIN. A man came in after me and she asked to help him when I was waiting in line and she ignored me completely until I told her I was first and she proceeded to just be extremely rude. I’m not sure what we did when we did the process accordingly and in a timely manner. I have been going to this shelter for years and adopted a pet before but I will not longer be returning ever due to this humiliating experience. Even though our family was ready for a pet we did not get her

Terrible place and service. Just called, said good morning. He kept show can he help. I kept saying good morning and he says he has to answer by saying how can he help. I’ve called and left several messages to request information on my dog and to date the girl hasn’t even called back. Yesterday I went and had to leave because the one girl there was moving very slowly and even though I was first there she started helping someone who came in after me.
