Alternative Energy Solutions has been very responsive to us regarding our Solar Panels. We were not the original buyers but purchased our home with the panels already installed. Alternative Energy Solutions (AES) has honored all maintenance contracts and warranties already purchased by previous owners and has been very easy to work with. This is a company you can trust! We first met the good folks at Alternative Energy Southeast a decade ago when they installed our first solar panels on our main roof as part of the Solarize Athens program. They did a great job. A few years later, we had them install 6 more panels on the west-facing side, this time to capture the late afternoon sun. The combination has been a real success. You can also trust them to be there when you need them.We actively monitor our power usage, so when a couple of panels stopped performing a few years ago, we called A E S. They responded quickly and discovered that squirrels had crawled between the panels and the roof to feast on the wires. They fixed the problem and installed a metal barrier around the perimeter of the panel array. Apparently the Five Points area of Athens, in particular, is Squirrel Heaven! Now, in 2025, once again they have come to our aid. This hot summer has dealt the final blow to our asphalt shingles, so this past week we had the house re-roofed. Alternative Energy Southeast removed all the solar panels and their brackets so the work could be done, then checked the conditions of the panels,and reinstalled them with new upgraded brackets and upgraded squirrel fences. I had been apprehensive about this…it sounded like a huge task! But they worked promptly and efficiently and the entire project was completed within days.

The team at Alternative Energy was easy to work with. We moved to Athens and bought a house with solar panels already installed. The team at Alternative Energy helped us get our "facility" reinstated with Georgia power, inspect our panels and get our connection back up and running. The guys came out to the house to inspect the panels and gave us options for our new set up versus the previous owner's set up.

I've been trying to find a reliable service technician for our solar and battery system in Savannah, with no success until I found AES. They responded immediately, and to my surprise a great technician (Lauren) called me late on a Friday and walked me through troubleshooting live through FaceTime, and solved a problem that was keeping the system down for 3 months! It's still early in the ownership phase, but so far I'm very pleased. The initial cost was honestly higher than I expected, but even with conservative numbers, I should get an ROI within 8 years if you include the 26% tax credit that is currently available. The plans were very detailed, and the overall experience was very professional. My only complaint is that Georgia Power limits the net metering to 10kwh systems. Otherwise I would love to expand what I have. My rep was Aaron, and he promised that I would have the system up and running by the end of the year, and he was correct. He also spent a lot of time on the phone answering a ton of questions. I highly recommend this company if you decide to pursue solar power for your home or business.
