Both my parents have had a good and easy experience at this Social Security office in Athens. The security office gentleman was very helpful to help us explaining the checkin process when we came over. They were both seen one after another after checking in and were done in 10 minutes for each of them.

We arrived a little early for our appointment and took a ticket from the machine — number 946. At around 10:30 AM, we were called to Window 3, even though our scheduled appointment was at 10:50 AM. The staff member at Window 3 took our ticket and told us to wait in the reception area until our appointment time, saying someone would call us by name. We followed those instructions and waited, but no one called us — even after our scheduled time had passed. When we inquired at the counter, we were simply told to get a new ticket to be called again. This was confusing and frustrating, as we had already been checked in and followed the directions we were given. We hope you can look into this issue to help prevent similar misunderstandings in the future

They keep messing with my mother’s check saying she owes them. When she already paid them. They need to stop immediately from messing with her check. Cause she barely can live off on what they don’t mess with as it is.

Hold time was lengthy, but that’s no big deal. Theresa T. helped me, she was extremely helpful, polite, professional, and personable. I had lots of questions, she was patient and helped answer them. She seems like the kind of person who actually cares, and isn’t just “doing their job”. Thanks Theresa!

Make sure to make an appt ahead of time - they don’t do walk ins. The agents I interacted with were very friendly. I went around noon and was in and out in under 10 minutes. Overall a great experience!

The Asian lady was very rude to me . She was racial profiling me. I have been i this county all my life and never experienced racism like I did today in this office. I think some government people need to be more nicer. She was very rude and racist.

The lady I had was very rude towards me the whole entire time hope yall get a better person than I did! (Located in C) I had all the proof I needed with me to get a replacement and very polite as well but the women on the other hand was a different story. BTW this was my first time going there and treated poorly. I get you have bad days but shouldn't take it out on the ones that aren't giving you a hard time, not my fault how insurance cards are issued and you would think a confirmation of birth record for proof would be enough but hey I still got everything accomplished atleast! I just don't like being disrespected. 👌🤷‍♀️

I always had good experiences here whether in person or calling. The people helping me were very sincerely trying to help and answer my questions. I never felt rushed, or like i was a bother, i was treated as an individual as each of us has a different situation when we need this institution. I commend the staff as this is a public service position and that can be a challenge. I always left with a good feeling that these people truly cared about we the people… I certainly would give more stars if I could!

This past Friday, I visited the Social Security office in Athens Georgia, and was lucky enough to have Brittany Discuss my needs. I had to put some documents together and bring them back on Monday. Today I got lucky and got to see Brittney again. What a great customer service lady. Anytime you’re dealing with companies are the government You can never know who your customer service lady may be. I’m sure Brittany is one of the best. Five star rating for this young lady. Thanks for the help.

There was no long wait, they're not just polite...but they go out of their way to see to your needs with info that's not even in their wheelhouse. Georgia's SS offices are the most hospitable I've ever experienced over 4 states!
