I have lived at Serene at Wood Lake about 12 years and I love it here . If you want a quiet, safe and friendly place to live you will enjoy living here. The landscape is beautiful and you can walk with your pets or friends through the private community. Lori, Mike, Blake and Megan are our office and maintenance staff. This staff really works well with the residents answering their questions and resolving any issues that may occur. L. Johnson

Wonderful Place to Live: I've lived here for over 11 years.. If "HOME" is what you want.. this is the place to live.. quiet, respectful neighbors, beautiful landscape within the private community. My husband and I just moved into Serene and so far, so good! Lorrie coordinated our lease set up and was so helpful with the moving in process. Blake is apart of the maintenance crew and helped set up our washer and dryer unit. He was swift, professional & kept our area clean. the neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. Would certainly recommend the place!

I just wanted to say that for the last 2 months we have lived here, this is the best experience we have had to date with renting an apartment. Kathi is the best and kindest property manager I have ever worked with. She was infinitely helpful with my move-in process (which involved a 4 day drive across the country), and called to check in with us on our arrival day to make sure she would be in the office when we got there. The property is spacious and quiet for the most part with the only sounds of note being the normal sounds of people living their lives. The maintenance team is very kind and was helpful in getting some of our "problems" with the apartment fixed after move-in. The only notable problem was a leaky faucet and they completely replaced it! They are pet friendly at very affordable rates. Overall, like I said, this is by far our best apartment experience to date.

We have had nothing but problems since we started living here. Our first issue was that our AC was out the first 3 days we lived there. It’s hot in July and was over 80 inside. One of our key fobs was broken when it was given to us, and never worked. Had to wait a few days to get a replacement. Our next issue is the moldy spout in the bathtub, and no hot water pressure, which has still yet to be fixed. It is like pulling teeth to try to coordinate with maintenance to get the issues fixed. I’ve tried to schedule a time and they don’t show up. Someone has thrown soda on my vehicle twice now. The package machine doesn’t work, so if the office is closed, the packages just sit outside in front of the office, which isn’t secure. If I could get out of my lease I would because these issues are ridiculous.

The apartment itself was in poor condition and not properly cleaned before move-in. There were also a lot of pest problems, which made living there very uncomfortable. On top of all that, the neighbors were loud and inconsiderate, making it difficult to get any peace and quiet. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent living experience.

Infested with cockroaches! I wanted to like this place because the people in the office are nice, but this apartment complex is really awful. I lived there for awhile, and I saw cockroaches almost every day..it was so bad that I started sleeping at my friend's place every night just to not have to deal with it. My roommate and I kept the place clean, but the cockroaches were EVERYWHERE even outside and all over on the grounds of the property. I told the office and they brought pest control many times, but that did nothing..the cockroach infestation is already so bad that I'm not sure if anything can get rid of them. On top of this, the office is not present. Dozens of times I would go to get my Amazon packages from the office, and they would be closed despite it being normal business hours like 2pm on a Tuesday. I have never experienced an office that just closes at random hours during the week for absolutely no reason..it has caused me to not receive packages when I need them, and I was stuck when I moved in because no one was in the office..my roommate had to let me in. As if it couldn't get any worse, sometimes when you call the office during the normal business hours that they say they are open, it redirects your call to an "off-site" team that knows nothing about the apartments. It's like some kind of cruel joke...this off-site group did not even know what the gate code was or how to help me with moving in. They have ZERO knowledge of the apartments, and always say they will just let the main office know you called. If they can never help you, what is their purpose then?..The main office should be available during the posted business hours as stated on their website, and it's a shame that they leave the tenants high and dry with little to no communication. There are so many other apartments in Athens..Save yourself the headache and avoid this place unless you like absent management and sleeping with cockroaches on your bed

Serene at Woodlake has been my home for the last 7 years and I have really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. The maintenance team- Charlie and Randy- take care of all my work orders. The leasing office team- Jessica and Heather- have always been helpful. Love my home!

When a package comes, nobody is in the office. I have to come twice every time there is a package left. Husband came at 11:30 and I go at 4:40. So it is between business hours. If you are going to leave early, you should deliver packages to apartments. 9:00 to 5:00. And half the time office is locked. Not happy with this. Give me a solution, not just a positive sentence. Fix this. I look forward to my packages.
