We use Saia pretty regularly for routine shipments. They are usually easy to deal with and have good customer service. The only issue we have is that sometimes our driver will show up right at closing time or after, and there have been a number of occasions where the driver will show up with half a trailer full of drop off packages that we have to unload and reload just to be able to put our couple of pallets on the trailer. That being said, it is clear that they make every effort to get here to pickup, which we appreciate. It seems like maybe our area could use an additional driver.

Stay away with this trucking unless you can accept routine delay! We have 3 different shipments in within a month. All 3 shipments are delayed! The 1st shipment’s delay is they could not locate the shipment but we kept on receiving their customer service phone call for scheduling delivery appointment! 2nd shipment is scheduled to deliver between 10am-3pm but end up driver arrived at 5:15pm which already pass our business hour. The 3rd shipment which scheduled to deliver between 9:30am -1:00pm today. And now is 7:00pm we still do not get the shipment! The customer service keeps on fooling a time frame. Horrible trucking company!

Keep handy the phone # of the SAIA warehouse person you contact. The online # wasn't answered (I dont remember the details of attempts). If picking up at SAIA Athens GA in a vehicle, pickup is last door on '3rd side' of bldg. Bldg is a U shape if looking from its back lot facing the highway so drive completely around the U to its farthest extent where you see the bldg's fence; there is no exit. One way in, only way out. After you drive past the loading docks w big rigs loading up, you then can sight your appointed portal for pickups, it's the cement ramp. Don't back-up close to it; park enough forward for the forklift driver to your load down the ramp & offload to your vehicle from the level grade of the parking lot. Also don't park so far fwd from the ramp that you impede a big rig from pivoting 45° at its cab as it begins positioning to backup to the loading dock nearby. I had a pleasant wait watching a big-rig driver's skill & experise. To sum, leave maneuvering room for the forklift & the big rig. Carry tie-downs to secure your load to your truck bed or to the inside of your vehicle (for safety were u2b in an accident). The shipping to Saia LTL Freight was excellent, shipped pkg & contents = intact. The personnel all were pleasant. VIP: A repeat of top admonition. Have a phone # with you that is a good # to reach the responsible person to whom you will announce your arrival. The main # is not it. You know the assigned pickup port, but have a # connected to a specific employee who handles self-pickups. Likely paperwork for signature is brought out w freight; stay out of the warehouse due to forklift operations, conversation difficulty bc of noise level, many pallets & only a little avl open space for stepping over & around. Get a phone # to tell an employee you're in your vehicle. If you need to go inside, I'm supposing someone will escort you. Side note re Google Maps, directions. Don't figure if doing a 2nd search for directions that the Athens Saia you used for the 1st search will be the Saia that you pick from the order of several Saia's listed in that dropdown.

Horrible. Maybe the worst trucking company in America. They make appointments they cant keep over and over. Their customer service is beyond useless. Would not recommend working with them. And as far some of their drivers, Ive personally seen a SAIA driver commit a HIT AND RUN. Talk about professional, or the complete opposite.

Bill The Terminal Manager really helped out our customer to get an important delivery to a Hotel Redo. I appreciate the extra efforts and it really makes a difference in doing business. Thanks! Jennifer @ Insight
