PJ Clarke's on the Hudson offers a visually appealing setting with its waterfront views and lively ambiance, making it a worthwhile stop for the atmosphere alone. However, the food itself is merely average, adequate, but not particularly memorable. What really stands out is the steep pricing, which feels disproportionate to the quality and creativity of the dishes served. While the location adds a certain charm, it’s hard to justify the cost given the overall culinary experience. If you're visiting for the view and a drink, it's enjoyable; just don't expect a meal that matches the price tag.

a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view but sadly the food does not live up to the atmosphere. extremely mediocre cuts of steak for steep prices. the fries came soggy and cold and the steak completely lacked flavour. it was also very hot in the restaurant and we asked our server about it but no changes were made.

We were so happy to be seated on the harbor at P.J. Clarkes. Kobe seated us and we enjoyed chatting with him. The other servers were also attentive. I had the New York steak, Fries and a nice glass of Brooklyn Lager. While enjoying the sunset, I relized that I could see the Statue of Liberty! What a bonus!

The food was good, drinks were good, and atmosphere was good. Outdoor seating was very cute and view was pleasant. Service was quite slow but our waitress was very kind and helpful. If your looking for something casual and not pretentious or over the top than definitely recommend this place.

The restaurant is huge.... Noise quality outside was very nice. Views outside breath taking especially if you go before sunset. Our waited was great, although pushed a bit too hard to be liked. Food: Ordered two burgers, medium rare, came out medium-well. I was so looking forward to a nice thick juicy burger and was disappointed in size, taste and doneness. Drinks we well made. Enough alcohol to easy your Friday pains. Restroom: Department of health should shut them down. Gross to the max. Bathroom stalls were disgusting, not to mention the walls. We will not discuss the smell. Come on, a little lysol and a hot sponge to the wall will do the trick. Passing the kitchen on the way to the John, under the hot lamps we notices a try of oysters sitting under the lamps. WHAT? Really??? Who is not watching what is going on in there? After the bathroom visit, this was the icing to the cake! . Oh.. Speaking of cake... The chocolate brownie desert was to die for! Next time you go out to eat.. Go to the bathroom first, that will set the mood for the entire food experience. I. M. H. O.

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! We had dinner there with my boyfriend last week and had some oysters, lobster roll and fish & chips. Followed up with some cocktails. Service was amazing and water views are priceless! It feels like you are on vacation

My boys and I had lunch here after visiting the 911 Museum. Excellent location right next to the Hudson River. Ample outdoor seating. Mix of business folks and tourists. I had the Roast Chicken Ceasar. Other than being surprised by a bone in some of the chicken, it was enjoyable. (Picking up the meat to remove the bone was awkward.) My sons gave thumbs up to the Maine Style Lobster Roll, English Pea & Cucumber Hummus and Sea Salt Fries. Oh, and the lemonade was delicious. Typical of NYC, it was a bit pricey. Glad we stopped!

The experience at this particular PJ Clarke's location was disappointing, to say the least. The food was subpar, falling far short of expectations, and the service was among the worst I've encountered in New York City. For starters, during our dinner, it was quite distracting to see the staff maneuvering trash cans around the dining area, which added an unpleasant ambiance. Our server seemed flustered and struggled to provide accurate information about the menu items, including essential details about dish ingredients and potential allergens. This lack of clarity unfortunately resulted in an allergic reaction later on. When it comes to the food itself, the flavors were lackluster at best; the dishes arrived unappetizingly cold and undistinguished. The burgers were overly fatty, leaving a greasy aftertaste, and the bread was stale and uninviting. Though I must admit the salad was a bright spot—it was fresh and well-prepared—the fries were an absolute letdown, arriving completely devoid of seasoning. Overall, I would recommend giving this location a pass unless you're simply looking to unwind with a glass of wine on the patio at the end of a long day. Otherwise, there are far better dining options in the city that offer both quality cuisine and attentive service.

Nice place with bad attitude . Gorgeous view. The guy in charge of the outdoor dining area has a bad attitude. He didn’t allow us to enter. I think the management needs to take action because someone - other thank me - may pick a bone with the establishment. It was a bad experience. I don’t recommend this place. We raised the the issue to the manager, but his response was even worst.

I love P.G.Clarkes. I been almost to all of their locations. Always good food and service. But this one is my favorite. Beautiful view, calming environment and excellent service. We stop for drinks and food. Best way to finish a Sunday walk.
