Looking for a great informal Japanese restaurant in NYC? Meijin fits the bill! Pumpkin tempura and sweet chili shrimp for starters, with Mei-Jin and Veggie Ramen for mains. Great service and fun atmosphere!

Me and my daughter came on a Friday night. The wait was about ten minutes. We were entertained by the paper cranes hanging from the ceiling. The food tasted wonderful! We ordered the seared scallops, soft crab buns & their chicken chasu ramen. The seared scallops were cooked to perfection and the soft crabs were crunchy and seasoned just right. The broth for the ramen was creamy and delicious, and the noodles were cooked well. As for dessert, we had Vanilla crepe cake - it was divine! Excellent finish to our dinner.

I had lunch with my boyfriend — delicious ramen and amazing food. Thanks to Abby for his service and especially for his honesty; by mistake I left a very large tip and he let me know. We need more honest people like him! I love the place, the vibe, the service, and the food. Highly recommended!

After a wonderful walk through the Guggenheim Museum, my friends and I were craving something hearty. Summer in New York felt as if it had suddenly been switched off — the weather outside was cool and autumn-like. That combination of hunger and chill led us straight to Meijin Ramen. The menu is impressively well thought out — we wanted to try almost everything. We started with the bao buns: pork for some of us, crab for others. The buns themselves could have been fluffier, but the fillings were flavorful. A solid four out of five. For ramen, we tried a few varieties. The beef ramen was hearty, with rich broth, firm noodles, and good-quality meat. The pork ramen turned out to be one of the best we’ve had — our friends especially loved it. The chicken ramen also didn’t disappoint. We added a salmon poke bowl, with fresh pieces of salmon and a spicy mayo — delicious, and it came with miso soup on the side. To finish, we ordered the matcha tiramisu. It was unusual, dense, and made with high-quality matcha — a creative and satisfying dessert. Overall, we left full and happy. The prices are fair for the quality, and Meijin Ramen is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood.

Love the location, the food is amazing! I was t sure how the banana sushi would taste but it was really good. Also the takoyaki is delicious! Definitely a cute chill spot for good sushi. The aburi seared roll is great also, the combination of the shrimp tempura with avocado and salmon melted on the tongue! The vibe of the restaurant is chill.

Loved the food here! 🍣 The spicy salmon poke was fresh, flavorful, and topped with just the right amount of creamy sauce and tobiko. The seaweed salad and avocado on the side made it even better. The fried squid was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, paired with a tasty spicy mayo and fresh lemon. Definitely a spot I’d come back!

Their weekday Bento sets are honestly one of the best deals you will find in the UES . Starting at $14 you are getting a little taste of Japan right in the middle of your workday. Each set comes with a soba salad, warm miso soup and a perfectly shaped onigiri that’s simple yet so satisfying. Available Monday to Friday , 12-3 PM, dine-in only. But what makes Meijin really shines are their ramen. Specifically, their signature Washu Beef ramen which have been served over a decade. The Washu beef is incredible tender and so flavorful in every bite.

I had the Summer Seafood Ceviche Cold Noodle and String Bean Tempura at Meijin Ramen NYC, and I absolutely loved it! The flavors were fresh and vibrant—perfect for a hot day. The seafood was refreshing, and the tempura was crispy and light. Definitely coming back for more!

They have pretty solid food. The crispy salmon, scallop and wagyu on their summer menu taste delicious. The highball tastes too light.
