I stopped by Zaxby’s on a Sunday afternoon hoping for a quick bite, but the packed parking lot and the endless drive thru had me thinking twice. No thanks. I got back on the road, stomach grumbling, when I spotted Willie B’s Chicken Coop, tucked beside the Marathon gas station on Jefferson Road. I’d heard some coworkers talk about the place, so I figured it was worth a shot—and now I wish I’d gone sooner. The inside was simple but clean and surprisingly spacious. No bells and whistles, just plenty of tables and a relaxed atmosphere—perfect for enjoying a casual lunch without having to elbow your way to a seat. I ordered a chicken finger plate for myself and a kid’s chicken finger plate for my son. The food came out hot and fresh. The chicken was everything you’d hope for: crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right. The fries were plentiful and perfectly salted (they didn’t even need ketchup—which, let’s be honest, is rare), and the coleslaw was creamy and flavorful. I only wish there had been more of it—I’d happily take a second scoop. Throughout the meal, I interacted with four different employees, and each one was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about the customer experience. That kind of service stands out these days. Zaxby’s and Raising Cane’s better take notes—Willie B’s is doing it right. Great food, kind people, and no stress. Forgot to take a pic of my grit bowl bc I was so hungry 😅 I ran into the chef a few weeks ago and he told me that they had started their breakfast up again and I needed to swing by to try...I got the grit bowl with chicken and BOY it was delicious; large portion too which I'm not complaining about! I will definitely be back again for breakfast and sometime soon for lunch as he said they do a loaded Mac n cheese which is right up my alley!

Drive through was very respectful. Brandon and Marco were great! The chicken has that perfect crisp and the food was fresh. I loved how the toast was presented and was well flavored. This chicken is so good I didn't even need the signature sauce, but man oh man that sauce is delicious. Definitely dipped my fries in the sauce. Not often can I say I find chicken tenders that I enjoy solo without a sauce. Something about the seasoning just brings me back bite after bite. This place is gonna give magoos and caines a run for their money!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely a five-star restaurant! Breakfast and lunch were cooked to order, fresh, and hot you can taste the quality in every bite. Special shout-out to Ms. TINA and ALL STAFF at the drive-thru 👏 She was phenomenal! Her customer service was outstanding, and she gave me great recommendations when I told her it was my first time trying their breakfast. Truly made my visit memorable. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re looking for fresh food and excellent service!

Miss Tina! She is the most sweetest woman! I came in tired and exhausted. But her positive attitude and just so friendly made my morning. I miss old school service like this. Made me feel like a kid again being happy to order breakfast. She was awesome. Thank you Miss Tina! I'll be back for the food but also to see that awesome smile and amazing service.

Best chicken biscuit for breakfast in Athens and it's not close! The biscuit was soft and super fresh, the chicken is two very flavorful and perfectly cooked chicken fingers. Nothing special about the side of tots but they were very crispy and fried in clean oil, which is harder than it sounds at a spot that's frying a ton of breaded chicken. The staff was friendly and quick, I met the manager Brandon and the cook Marco and they were proud of putting a good product on the table. Only drawback is the location compared to where I live and obviously there's nothing they can do about that. If you had time to drive to Crawford for a biscuit from the OG Cafe Racer before they moved to town, you can drive out of your way to Jefferson Highway and get the best fried chicken breakfast biscuit in town.

Got the 5-tender meal and it was delicious. Ive been here twice now and the Willie’s sauce was different slightly, which I found to be a little odd. The fries are also a little too limp for my liking, but I will not let that impact my review since these are most likely issues that will get resolved as they train the staff. Overall I would definitely recommend!

I have eaten here a few times and it has always been great! I stopped by for lunch this past Monday, and was greeted with a smile and great service by Marco. Not only is he the head cook, but also was working the drive through as well. It truly is the best chicken in town!

This place is amazing!! Tenders and fries are so soft and crispy. The oil is fresh! And the honey biscuits are so good! You can tell the food is made with love!! I highly recommend!
