Waffle House is the late night, after party spot. It’s the thing you crave when you’re hungover the morning after drinking one too many in Downtown Athens. I will forever love this spot and the memories I’ve made here from college and beyond. Service is southern hospitality with a little sass and your food comes out pipping hot cooked to perfection. Don’t expect your table or the floor to be the cleanest you’ve ever seen, but know they run a tight ship and do maintain the store well. During my last visit, I ordered a Strawberry Shortcake Waffle, a recent addition to their menu. It reminded me of the Strawberry version of the Special K cereal in the best way. I also ordered a side of hashbrowns covered, peppered, diced and chunked, which came out deliciously. I’ve ordered for pick up before in the past and they are speedy!

We had the worst experience due to our Waiter Jessie. He had the worst customer service we have ever seen. He brought us our ticket before our meal was even being cooked so we couldn't place a to go order. He proceeds to overshare everything he does. Really disrespectful to older Adults and young Adults. I put a dollar in the jukebox and a man behind me asked the server to play another song and the server said well a quarter wouldn't do. The customer said yes it does sir. I had to get up and play the song for the customer behind me. Server was awful. We will not come back

My family of 5 just had to worst service and food EVER at any location!! Two people decided to try their "new delmonico steak" meals. BIG MISTAKE!!! The medium cooked meat was barely larger in size of the half piece of toast. The one that was cooked well done looked like flat steak as it was 1/3 as thick because I'm sure it had a press set on it. It was tough as shoe leather and absolutely un-eatable!!! We had to order a burger so my son would have something to eat and YES. We still were made to pay for the awful piece of leather!! Most of the hashbrown orders were wrong too! We had to ask the other waitress for refills as 3 cups were empty for a while. I would excuse some of this on a busy football game Saturday but not on a Friday afternoon with three tables having guest and thats including us. It was absolutely inexcusable! It definitely lived up to Awful Waffle name tonight!

They were packed today, because of the UGA/Notre Dame game. But we got our food fast, hot and fresh. Lisa was fantastic. The staff was happy and friendly. Coffee was perfect. Will be back very soon!
