We rented a boat and had a wonderful time with the leadership team at the campsite. We enjoyed grilling meat, and the place was so pleasant with a shallow area where the kids could swim. It was an incredibly comfortable and enjoyable location!

This park has been closed and neglected for 4 years. Now there's a sign that says No Entry. There are two families living on the property that have been here for 6 months. No one else. What a waste a beautiful resources.. I've been coming here to walk by the water since 1993. Great job USACE

Great spot for a long weekend getaway. Camp host were phenomenal and very accommodating. We fished all weekend and were able to leave the boats in the water and pull them up right in front of camp. The islands in front of the campground do attract a lot of boats pulling up on the beaches and shallow sand bars hanging out for the day, but was not too bad the weekend we were there. Be sure to read all of the restrictions, the host do a good job of monitoring that as well.

Campground is very nice and well run, bathrooms are decent. We had site 46 which has nice waterfront view and is good for swimming. Campsite pad are very small and close to each other.Great access to water for any water sport. We will definitely be back.

Van Pugh South is a U.S Corps of Engineers campground that is open to the public. For the most part of the sites are tiny and seem to accommodate one small tent or RV but site 52 is the largest and has a water hookup across the street from it but it is a nonelectric site and they do ask that you do not flush the tanks of your RV with the water hookup at the dumpster area. They offer access to a range of activities with every site waterfront so fishing is as easy as 123. No catch and release restrictions. If you're planning on going out on the water, they even have a boat ramp access. All in all we give it a 4 for beauty but the sites could be a little bigger.

Campground is very nice and well run, bathrooms are decent. We had site 8 which has nice waterfront and is good for swimming. It would have been perfect except for two things. It seems that the small islands directly across from our site are a popular place for houseboats and other boats to park and hang out all day. Which wouldn't have been a problem if they hadn't been blasting their music until 11 pm each day. Our other issue was the lack of gravel on the tent pad area. Our stuff is covered in red clay stains after a morning of rain.

Great stay ! so glad I found this place ! The Staff were so helpful . They took the time to explain and answer all my questions and I had alot ! They went above and beyond helping me get checked in . I'm not very good with apps and things like that. The lady at the front entrance helped walk me through the entire process.. One of the staff members even let me follow him to my exact campsite and because it was so dark I couldn't see well to back up my camper... He went above leaps and bounds and taking the time to shine his headlights from his vehicle . to my camp spot and helped me back my camper in safely. Also helped me hook up my power and was very kind. I swear I almost felt like a celebrity how well I was treated. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. I had a great experience !

Nice quiet campground with a helpful staff. The camping spots are on. Most are back in only. Not very many lake front spots. Good price and you can stay up to two weeks at a time. Good time for small groups

Beautiful campground! Security guarding all the time ! I had an amazing experience here! Only I wish there were more restrooms so that we could just walk from any distance!

Beautiful views, noisy at times however do to party boats, loud music. If you want to put up two tents they have to be on one pad...which we got both tents on our pad and we were told by host we're good, then the wife of this host stops by telling us we need to be on the pad...My husband said the host gave us a thumbs up but we still had to lift tarp to prove it. That was a bit ridiculous π. Bathhouse was nice but no hand dryer so bring a hand towel.
