Music so unnecessarily loud you have to scream at the top of your lungs to be heard by someone 2 inches from you, the floors are so sticky, I stood still for like 5 minutes almost face planted because my boots were stuck to the floor and one came fully off. There's like one good bartender and I've only seen her once. The bouncers are rude, and the whole place is so trashy, it's sad it's the only Hispanic bar in the area

Honestly , not even worth one star. The experience was completely awful. The bouncers, or better the bar, only care about exploiting people and making a quick buck. They would rather let in people who pay into their bar, instead of people who have been waiting in their line for hours. Plus their bouncers are absolutely awful at their job, they can not maintain an organized line, and will actually put their hands on young women, instead of doing their job. Awful. Never coming here again. Keep in mind this is somebody who used to be regular here. Spend your money somewhere else.

As we waited in line my friends and I got caught in the crossfire of pepper spray being sprayed and the bouncer warned no one. All 7 of us got caught in some way whether it was the eyes, nose, or whole face in general. The owners refused to help us and the bouncer told us to leave. All we wanted was water to flush our eyes and we received no help whatsoever. The cops were no help either they just told us to file a report. This establishment doesn’t care about the well being of others just making money off of people. I wouldn’t go back even if they paid me. If I received a I’m sorry I’d probably give them 2 stars. But honestly It’s not worth listening to the same music twice and getting pushed on much less the wet and sticky floors. Save your time and money.

Great to have a latin bar here in athens. Great music and dancing. However, i recently went to tropical bar and got there very early .. like 1030 and there was no toilet tissues in the girls bathroom at all , no napkins to dry hands either. Ppl started fighting so we left around 2am. More security is needed. There was only 2 security gaurds on a frday night.

The owners of this bar want to do nothing but exploit their own. It’s amazing to see how people want to do nothing but make money and make everything about money. They are not building a community and they do not want community. The amount of ease people get drugged here is also a shame but no one cares. This bar does not care about morals and don’t care about yours either. They had a good thing running but when u mix in evil energy personally that’s where I dip and too be honest y’all can go but be careful fam this bar does not mean good business and do not care for you.

I went out to this bar on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 and I had a horrible time. The bouncer outside who had his face covered was extremely rude, and when I went to record him because I felt unsafe he ripped my phone out of my hand and was refusing to give it back. My male coworker had to get my phone back for me because the bouncer wouldn’t return it to me. AVOID THIS BAR AT ALL COSTS there are much better bars in Athens.

The bouncer (security) was belligerent, and actually touched me inappropriate during a pat down. No other bar in Athens does anything of this sort. I also learned a friend of mine was assaulted by this same bouncer. He forcefully ripped her phone out of her hand, and she’s a good soul. Something has to be done about this man.

This bar is horrible! Just tonight my friends were pepper sprayed “on accident” by the bouncer with his face covered and when requesting water for their eyes/face the bar owner and bouncers refused and instead told us to “go to another bar”.

If you are a girl don’t go to tropical, the bouncers won’t care about you and the men inside are predatory. Save yourself time and go inside of church or any of the other bars downtown.

FINALLY some good Latin vibes in Athens. Love this place and their music, and their staff does a great job. Looking forward to going back for some more reggaeton, bachata, salsa and merengue
