Before visiting, I called ahead to confirm if someone was available to do a wash and silk press on natural ethnic hair. They assured me there was. This wasn’t my first time going—previous experiences had been great. When I arrived, I clearly stated that I wanted a silk press and asked if they knew how to work with Black hair. Since there were several Black students present, I assumed they’d assign one to me. However, a Caucasian student approached me, saying she’d be my stylist. I asked if she had experience with Black hair, and she said yes, but added that her friends would help her. Unfortunately, this was her first time working on Black hair, and despite having Black instructors present, none of them stepped in to guide her on how to properly blow-dry or straighten ethnic hair. The result was the worst hairstyle and service I’ve ever received here. Like they didnt style it or anything then this white instructor comes up and say spray this in her hair they sprayed it poofed my hair back up. They continue to straighten every piece like 3-4 timesss now I may have heat damage. When Ms. Anita was working, I never had any issues. If you’re Black, I wouldn’t recommend coming herthey’ll treat your hair like a trial run. Waste of money and time

I came and got a blowout and shampoo done today and had a wonderful experience! Saylor was my stylist and I highly recommend. Feeling confident walking out and great prices 👍🏼

Great, fast, inexpensive professional level haircut. Open late. Caring, friendly staff. Even when the power went out while I was in the chair mid-cut, Gerri moved me to a station with some waning natural light and persevered.

Ari & sherry was so sweet. ari gave me highlights & she took her time and it turned out amazing! Also I brought my son in with a hair cut that was horrible and they fixed him up ♥️ Thank you again.

It may take longer (no appointments and sometimes stylists are really new) but the prices are very low and the instructors are always monitoring the students. I have received more compliments on my hair than ever since I put my hair in their care! I'm adding photos of undercut designs done by students, many were the first they had ever done.

I went in wanting to get a manicure a pedicure and a haircut. I got a manicure first and changed my mind within the first two minutes, that I didn’t want any more of their services. The individual that did my manicure had never done a manicure before in her life. It was very apparent that she had no clue what she was doing, as if she has never even painted her own nails in her own life. I will never go back again. I hate to say that I even paid for the service. I don’t blame the student, the instructors should not let someone work on a person that has zero experience yet. Very very disappointed.

I use to love this school i even went here a couple years ago. I went last year to get a wash and braids i loved it. So yesterday 09/19/2024 I called to see if a braider was available my appointment was at 1 okay cool. I get there with my hair the girl who came up made me think twice about my braids 🤦🏾♀️ she did my wash okay but i can tell she really didn’t know what she was doing. I was thinking positive because they still leaning. She gave me 3 red flags and how to braid. I should’ve listened to my instincts when i tell you my hair looked like my 7 year old did it I cried and the car because ain’t no way this girl just played in my hair like that. I wish i had a picture but I took it down soon i got home😭😭😭 then they talked bout 50$ and did i wanna tip her😡 i wasted my time that what i get for being lazy in not wanna do my own hair… they need to understand the difference between a BRAIDER AND A BEGINNER BRAIDER because whoever she was played in my face fr bad….

Took my daughter here for a simple wash and press. It went horribly wrong. I called before we came to see if they could deal with thick coarse hair. I understand that they are students and are learning but for my daughter to leave with only a wash ( no blow dry, no press) all because they left knots in my daughter’s hair. I had to do majority of the work to get it detangled. It was lesson learned. I’m only going to the professionals from now on. The girl was nice but I will not be returning. If you have little black girls with thick coarse hair I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

I go to get my hair done here quite often and I'm always greeted with warm smiles. The students are always so conversational, the instructors are extremely nice and they are constantly walking around checking on the students to make sure things are ok and checking to see if they may need a helping hand. Ive been many times and not 1 of those times was I not satisfied with what I got done. I always leave a few dollars for the student that does my hair just bc I feel like the work they do is worthy of some type of appreciation from myself.

i came in at 6:30 (03/29/24) for a money piece, my usual stylist teaches the students here so i felt comfortable with them doing my hair. maddie and zayne worked with me and on my hair they were AMAZING, absolutely love them. about 45 minutes to close the instructor started rushing zayne. as zayne was taking the foils out the instructor ms. b told her we don’t have time to tone her, just rinse her and send her on. i was shocked that she was really not letting her tone me and sending me out like that when they are closed the weekend and wouldn’t be able to finish it tomorrow. zayne was rinsing my hair and the instructor came and asked if i was paying cash or card i told her card and she told me it would be $45 and they weren’t gonna charge me the extra $35 for toner and style again i was shocked she said that because i would hope not considering she wouldn’t allow the students to finish my hair, she wouldn’t even let them blow dry my hair. again i want to say the students maddie and zayne were amazing, but i am very un satisfied with my experience with the instructor. i will not be back. i will however go to maddie and zayne when they get their own set up!
