We really enjoyed our stay at Southern Skies Chalet. It’s very close to the city of Helen, but still feels peaceful and tucked away in the country. The two levels were great and gave everyone a little extra space and privacy when we wanted it. There were plenty of things to do, between the arcade games and the hot tub, we were never bored. The kitchen and dining area were also huge, perfect for getting the whole family together for meals. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely come back again.

The Perfect Mountain Escape! Southern Skies Chalet was everything we hoped for and more! From the moment we arrived, the hosts went above and beyond. They were so kind, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The chalet itself had absolutely everything we needed, which made our stay so easy and relaxing. It was spotless, beautifully maintained, and you could tell it’s cared for with love. This was the perfect mountain getaway peaceful, cozy, and still just minutes from all the great things to do in Helen and Cleveland, GA. Honestly, my only regret is that we didn’t stay a few extra days to soak it all in. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and truly special place hosted by amazing people, Southern Skies Chalet is the one. We can’t wait to come back!

We had an incredible stay at the Chalet just outside of Helen, Georgia—only about a 10-minute drive into town, but far enough out to enjoy peaceful mountain views. The house has everything you could ask for: a hot tub, pool table, arcade games, PlayStation, and tons of space to relax. The fire pit was a favorite spot in the evenings, and the whole setting made for a perfect retreat. Whether you’re looking for a quiet escape or a fun family gathering, this place is a gem in the Georgia mountains. Highly recommend!

Mountain Getaway with Everything You Need! We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful property nestled in the Georgia mountains. The cabin was spacious, clean, and had all the comforts of home—including a fully equipped kitchen and three bedrooms with their own bathrooms, which made it super convenient for our group. The game room was the real highlight! It felt like a dream come true for anyone who grew up in the '80s and '90s—Ms. Pac-Man, Frogger, Super Mario Bros... the arcade machine had everything! It also had a pool table, karaoke machine, TV/lounge area, and even a second kitchen and office space. Perfect for rainy days or late-night fun. We also made great use of the outdoor space—the hot tub was relaxing and the fire pit was perfect for roasting marshmallows under the stars. It’s peaceful and private, yet just a short drive from downtown Helen and Ruby Falls, so we got the best of both worlds: nature and nearby attractions. Everything was well-maintained and clearly cared for. It’s the kind of place you look forward to returning to. Highly recommend for families, friends, or even a couples’ retreat!

Awesome spot to stay. There was a beautiful sunset with mist rising from the mountains, and you could see it all from the back porch. The house is very cozy with lots of games. You feel like you're at home while you're there. Only a quick 10 minute drive, and you're in Helene. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

We just returned home from a great Thanksgiving vacation at Southern Skies Chalet! Our entire family (4 adults and 2 children) enjoyed everything that this rental had to offer! From the moment we opened the door we were greeted by full Christmas decor: Christmas tree, stockings hung on the fire place, Christmas lights inside, and all the fine details in the throw pillows and other decorations; right down to a Christmas movie playing on the TV! We typically try to rent cabins for our Thanksgiving vacation and have become custom to packing typical kitchen items that we have found typically missing from our other rental experiences. Don't bother over packing here, this rental is FULLY stocked! Multiple well kept sets of dishes, appliances, knives, serving dishes, cooking utensils, and many pots, pats, etc. are provided in the kitchen. Additionally, another full stock of supplies located downstairs at the wet bar. I just want to stress again the "well kept" emphasis!! Property is very clean and well maintained. Our family really enjoyed the pool table, TV's in every room, the arcade game, a table big enough to sit our entire party for meals and Thanksgiving dinner (no kids table needed). The fire pit and hot tub were our families gathering points for the evenings! The fall mountain views from the deck and hot tub were exceptional. This property has everything you need for your getaway! Thank you for the memories created here, we can't wait to visit again!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this cabin. First off, the view is amazing. The hot tub was so much fun and we were still able to get in even when it was cold outside. Every room is super comfortable and really makes you feel like you’re at home. I love the downstairs space, it’s a great place for the kids to hang out and hop on the mini karaoke machine. Our kids love coming to this place because of the above mentioned amenities. The cute town of Helen is not too far away so it was a nice place to spend an afternoon out and shop. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our Christmas.

This charming 3-bedroom, 3-bath home exceeded all our expectations, comfortably hosting our group of 8. The second living room downstairs provided a peaceful retreat for some quiet time, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the highlights of our trip was tubing down the Chattahoochee River. It was an exhilarating experience that perfectly complemented our stay at the chalet. Floating down the river surrounded by stunning natural scenery was a memorable adventure for everyone. Located just minutes outside Helen, the chalet offered the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. We enjoyed the tranquility of the location while still being close enough to explore the nearby attractions. The unique charm of the area made it easy to see why people have chosen to settle there for so long. The chalet was well-equipped with all the necessary creature comforts, yet it retained a special character that can't be manufactured. Each corner of the home had something to offer, making it a place where special memories are effortlessly made. We are already planning our next trip back, eager to discover the small details we might have missed the first time around. ATTENTION PARENTS WITH KIDS! Love going on vacation but hate having to go to sleep when you put the kids down? If so, this is the perfect Helen cabin for you! Love the idea of a cabin in the mountains but afraid the kids won’t have a flat space outside to run around? If so, this is the perfect Helen cabin for you! Two bedrooms upstairs for the kids…and a whole suite down below equipped with a mini kitchen, fridge, and freezer for the parents. Do it your way, but this worked best for us with a 6yo and 3yo and allowed us to spend time together without whispering and tip-toeing. Both the front yard and back have a decent amount of flat ground to allow the kids to run around without fear of tumbling down a hill. The owners were AWESOME. They’ve thought of everything! My wife could not get over how thorough their first aid kit was. Arcade game and hot tub were a hit. The cabin was incredibly clean. My wife is a neat-freak and didn’t feel the need to lift a finger when we got there. This will be our vacation spot for years to come…not necessarily because of how much we love Helen and the surrounding areas/towns, but because of how perfect this house suits what we are looking for in a vacation rental. I’ve spent time trying to think of a negative about this home but can’t come up with anything. Beautiful view of the mountains both day and night and we had deer in the yard on our last day there. Not to mention you get to downtown Helen in 10 minutes or less. LOVED THIS HOME!

Beautiful property and surroundings! The cabin has everything you'll need for the best stay. The beds/furnishings are super comfortable, the firepit area is awesome for ghost stories and the hot tub is the perfect way to close your day of adventure! I will definitely go back again and again!!
