If you want a super unique and luxurious place to stay while visiting Athens, GA, look no further than the Athenian!! My husband and I recently enjoyed an evening here as a sort of "staycation" away from home, and it was the PERFECT spot to stay and be tourists in our neighboring city! Our room, the Ares, was huge and such a UGA vibe with the chic and cool red and black themed room with vaulted ceilings. The bed was incredibly comfy. The lounge with all the snacks, sodas, and wine/beer available is an incredibly nice touch. OH, and we walked from our hotel to all around downtown - no need to drive to the shopping, best restaurants, and bars either! I cannot WAIT to find another reason to go back to the Athenian.

Lauren made our stay ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I proposed to be girlfriend I Athens and stayed here and they were extremely accommodating and the service was immaculate. The rooms were prestige, environment was very welcoming and the people were SO NICE. I told some of the guests here that we got engaged and we randomly saw them at dinner and they even bought us our drinks! A PERFECT STAY. Thank you thank you so much we will remember this forever!

My husband surprised me with a stay at the Athenian recently, and it was an exceptional surprise. This is one of my favorite hotel stays of all time. Every detail was wonderful — the hotel is itself is beautiful, with a fully stocked library (complete with drinks, snacks, comfy seats, and cozy vibes) and uniquely designed guest rooms. The bed is the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on. Bathroom amenities were top tier. And the location was great for us — easy walking distance to campus, 40 Watt, downtown Athens. Such a great stay. We will definitely be back!

We had the best weekend getaway at The Athenian! The attention to detail, amenities, and communication were exceptional. Our room was absolutely stunning (we stayed in Hera), and the hotel itself is perfectly located within walking distance to many great restaurants, bars, and shops. We really enjoyed our time in The Athenian and loved Athens. Look forward to visiting again!

The Athenian is such a lovely and unique place to stay while in Athens! Cannot recommend it more. It is historic, easy to walk to delicious restaurants and shopping, and the rooms are so thoughtfully designed. It was fun to interact with the other guests in the public spaces and the complimentary snacks and beverages made you feel right at home. We will be returning anytime we need to be in town!

We greatly enjoyed our experience at The Athenian. Found it on an internet search looking for an overnight stop on a vacation trip around the southeast. Excellent website. We stayed in the "Athena" room. Hands down the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. The house has been refurbished beautifully and is well appointed. The comfortable lounge is stocked with snacks and beverages, wish our stay was longer so we could have spent more time there. Lauren made the whole experience seamless. Downtown is a short walk with plenty of good food and shopping.

A perfect stay at the Athenian for a girls’ weekend. The house itself was delightful and thoughtful- chargers and water in every room, locks on each door, complimentary soft drinks, beer, wine, snacks in a cozy lounge. Location is great- heart of downtown but easy walking distance to everything on Prince Ave. Owner was very communicative and we felt very well taken care of.

Everything about this place is magical. Each room beautifully decorated, gorgeous common spaces to hang out and easy walking distance to everything downtown. The location is absolutely amazing! We recently stayed on a moms getaway (6 of us) and each had our own private rooms which was awesome. I highly recommend staying here on your own but a group stay was equally fun! Will definitely stay here exclusively when I need a room in Athens

Just enjoyed a fantastic weekend at the Athenian with friends. The location is perfect, the Inn is so beautiful, cozy and welcoming and perfect for a romantic weekend or a fun weekend with friends. The history of the building only adds to its charm but it is evident they have thought about every detail! Snacks and beverages in the lounge, treats in the room and even the toiletries were fantastic. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay while visiting the Classic City! Can’t wait to plan my return trip.

What a fabulous place and in the perfect location! I had been following along on the progress of The Athenian on Instagram and was so excited to be able to get a room during our recent parents weekend. If you love old homes with fun, beautiful interiors, this is your place! During your stay, there is complementary wine, beer and other drinks as well as an unlimited supply of snacks. Rooms had nespresso machines for coffee. Each room is decorated differently - each beautiful in a unique way. I kinda wish I didn’t have to leave! Thank you all for such an enjoyable stay! I’ll be back!
