Red Oak Village is such a great place to live. Everything was clean and worked well when we moved in and the leasing agents made sure to explain everything. The pool is phenomenal and it’s just overall super nice! I always felt comfortable asking for things to be fixed because they took care of it in a timely manner every time!

Red Oak is a very quiet and peaceful place to live. The maintenance crew is always very prompt and helpful if anything is needing to be fixed. The customer service associates running the apartments are very friendly and willing to help in any way they can. Apartments are clean and maintained.

I don’t leave negative reviews often, just felt like others need to be aware! Don’t expect to get your full security deposit back. Money taken from us for a “mandatory carpet cleaning fee” (and a few other things) at move out, even though when we moved in, it was filthy and we had to spend hours cleaning before moving in. At move out time, we spent a lot of effort and time cleaning and getting the apartment way better than when it was given to us. But it was a waste of time. They still found things wrong with it, even though these things were in the same condition as when we moved in. If it wasn’t in the condition it was in when we moved in, I wouldn’t have this view. But what it seems like is they probably say they will use the money to fix things, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the new people who move in get charged for the same things we did and they won’t get replaced until absolutely necessary. Overall, not a bad place to live. Just really disappointed with how they handled move out / move in. Looks like other reviews have the same issue.

The rental company, sky water something is a joke. Make sure to mark every single thing in the inspection before turning it in. From little scratches on the floor to even little bit of dust in the corner otherwise you will never get your deposit back. They are just hoping you miss something so that they can steal your money. Very disappointing, oh and people smoke pot and it travels to all the apartments around. Go somewhere else that treats you fair.

While the apartments here are beautiful, they are managed by Skywater Realty. The owner of this company is Les McCrary. Les does not sign lease contracts until a tenant moves in, even after the tenant has signed the contract and been led to believe that they are contractually obligated to abide by the terms of the lease. If you try to move elsewhere before the lease begins, this company will remind you that you signed a contract and make you pay for it. However, if you demand that Les' property managers (Deanna) abide by any verbal agreements made when signing the contract, Les may also choose to tell you that he never signed the contract and that he does not have to rent to you. Essentially, you are in limbo until you actually move in, and this allows Les and the people who work for him to lie about their properties just to get you to sign a lease, only to later tell you that they never agreed to anything verbally. They will only mention that they never executed your lease only when it is convenient for them. If you have an emergency and need to back out of the lease, they will pretend the lease was already executed. Les and Skywater are just shady all around. Do not live anywhere managed by this company unless you are lawyered up, and do not assume you actually live here just because you signed a lease, even if they send your "signed contract" to you as evidence of leasing. It means nothing.
