As an authentic Jamaican, why did this restaurant give me overnight rice that has been sitting in the fridge then try to hide the age of the rice with a whole bunch of sauce turning the plate into a bowl of rice and oxtail soup . I can taste the hard and soft at the same time. I will never go back to this place I wouldn't even recommend change the name the southern cuisine

The food is incredible and the portions are quite sizable which takes it from great deal to an amazing deal. In addition, the ordering and pick up process was easy. There is plenty of parking (so important) and you just walk up to the take out window inside. Super simple. I especially recommend the brown stew chicken and the beef patty (picture in my photos). Their hours are a little restricted, so make sure you check first, but it’s so worth it!

We had Rashe bring her food truck to cater our outdoor wedding party— it was an absolute hit! Rashe and her son did an outstanding job with the food and service. The soul food is some of the best I’ve ever had (born and raised in GA so that’s saying a lot, don’t tell my grandma) and the Caribbean cuisine is unmatched (have lived and spent a lot of time in the islands— her curry chicken and spinach pate are unreal). Beyond the food, they do a lot for the community and kindness emanates from Rashe and her son. They helped us donate to food banks and drives in the area so that no food was wasted after our party. Great food, great people, can’t recommend them enough!

Tbh this doesn’t taste like authentic Jamaican food. Got the oxtail and it was salt and way too dark, the rice was off too and too much gravy and the veggies weren’t good at all. I am sorry but maybe it was a off day but my experience wasn’t good.

Too salty and my plantains and rice were covered in oil. For the future, it would be good to be lighter on the salt and oil. Service was not great, considering you have to order your meal through a peep hole. The server was not very pleasant.

I loved this restaurant but they closed it. And I have no idea if they moved somewhere else. The oxtails were AMAZING!!!! My favorite. Update: I've been trying to find this review that I made years ago Rashe's is now on Vine Street and Icouldn't be more excited. It is every Friday for the oxtail for me!! 😉

Not authentic at all . Plantains undercooked , the rice was covered in gravy , oxtails were tender but over salted. I didn’t taste any notes of spices other than salt & heavy gravy. Ancestors will be disappointed. Overall I will give 1 star for the effort …

I drove 40 minutes to get this nice homely Jamaican meal and I was not disappointed! I will be back again!

This is our second time having Rashe's cater for us. It is by far, one of our favorites. The portions are huge. We ordered the best curry chicken and vegetables that I've ever had. The collard greens, mac n cheese, rice and peas, and the cranberry cake were all to die for. Rashe and her staff have always been so friendly. We will definitely use them over and over again.

I rarely feel compelled to write reviews but when I do, it's because I am really pleased with the outcome whether it be a service, environment or product/food or on the opposite I leave extremely upset and disappointed. Today was my 1st time eating here and I was not disappointed! This is the best Jamaican food in Athens! I had the oxtails w/rice&peas, collards and veggie medley that consists of cabbage, carrots, green beans and corn and it was delicious! The meat was very flavorful and tender and the collards had a hint of coconut that I tasted which was surprisingly very good, as I am usually apprehensive to try greens from anywhere other then my kitchen. Everything was good! The rice and peas are cooked in a rich brown sauce that paired well with everything on the plate! I'm bringing my mom, son and husband next time and whenever I get the taste for Jamaican I'm coming here!
