The atmosphere is very nice. The decoration and walls make you feel like you are in China. You can get a lot of portions for a cheap price. My wife loved the shrimp. But l didnt like the rice+chicken fries. I liked chinese beer.

We had all the staples the kids loved and each was incredible! The orange chicken came in this very unique presentation, tasted amazing, especially with the cherries and it had a good crunch. The Bourbon chicken was also incredible, it had a lot of thinly sliced onions BUT they're soaked in that sauce which makes them taste so good. The Mongolian beef was my favorite and it was packed with flavor! This is easily our favorite Chinese restaurant so far! Apparently they used to have a buffet on Sundays that I don't think they do anymore which is a shame. If they bring that back, this would easily be one of the best restaurants in the area.

Peking China has been around for years and years. The overgrown landscaping outside is a testament to the tired 80/90’s feel inside. Sometimes these old nooks are a diamond in the rough, but Peking China feels really tired. Now onto the food…The food was average to below average, but the portions were generous. The egg drop soup was not what I would usually expect with huge egg pieces (more like wonton soup) and bits of chicken and shrimp loitering at the bottom of my bowl. That was the only outlier we noticed other than the hunk of paper? Cardboard? I’m not sure what…ended up in my Chicken w/Broccoli and one of our Chicken Lo Mein dishes appeared to have tempura crunchies thrown in…on purpose? Or just leftovers scattered from around the fryer? There was a buffet area, but it was closed (Saturday). I’m thinking it’s open during the week, but call ahead since Im not 100%. Our family won’t be seeking Peking China out on purpose again since I don’t really crave brown paper bags and other questionable items from an obviously chaotic kitchen.

Our service was amazing! 谢谢,炒饭很好吃。 对不起, I realized our server asked me how I was doing after my father said I was practicing Chinese. 我嫂子是中国人, but I don't get to see her often. I want to surprise her. We were still working (doing paperwork) so I was not entirely focused, so I forgot alot. Thank you for being patient while I ordered. To answer your question on how I am doing 😅, 我很好,你呢? Overall wonderful service and staff, food was delicious! We have a ton of left overs. Portion sizes are large. Very satisfied! Thank you so much! Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Had lunch today there ordered the sesame chicken with a drink and hot and sour soup first off the outside of the building needs serious landscaping help and looks run down but to get to the food everything that had anything to do with it was stale from the fried wonton chips that went in the soup to the end of the meal with the fortune cookies if you like cardboard this place is for you then the chicken not sure if they understand how to properly cut a chicken but the chicken was so stringy the dog that I brought with me would hardly eat it I informed the manager of the problem and he could care less ask for refills for my Coke and he complained when he refilled my cup he had put the ice all the way up to the top typical penny pincher manager and eventually told me not to come back I have been coming to Peking for nearly 30 years and it's no wonder they closed the other Peking and since then the place has consistently gone downhill I will not be back neither will the group of about 30 people that I usually bring with me every once in awhile. This manager also said he was the owner so from a customer to the owner you should fire yourself. Do yourself a favor and go to a different Chinese restaurant that's more up to date.

Overpriced and disgusting. First, none of the food is a "meal" so if you don't just want just five pounds of meat, you have to order an additional $14 plate of noodles, but then you have 10 pounds of food for $30. I ordered the Peking Beef, which I read is a crispy fried beef. This was so soupy that by the time it got to me, about a cup and a half of liquid was in the grocery bag that it came in. The beef was soggy and the only flavor was "sweet." The lo mein was flavorless except for the bean sprouts which tasted like sewage. They don't really speak English so you can't ask them anything. Going to try to get a refund to eat someplace else.

I have lived in Athens my whole life. This used to be a landmark, one of the best restaurants in Athens. We would eat here Sunday's after church, for homecoming in high school etc. The food and service were always phenomenal. It had started going downhill but then the pandemic. Since then this place has become such a disapointment. The food is a crapshoot. It might be pretty good one night and disgusting the next. The owners do not seem to care anymore. They jack up prices while serving less quality food. It's so sad to see such a wonderful institution to keep going down and down. I'll just start eating Panda Express from now on.

The experience was good, however, we had a scare with the food. My fiancee has a pretty severe shellfish allergy. Normal egg drop soup doesn't have any shrimp in the broth. All of Peking's soups have the same broth and have pieces of shrimp in them. This is not disclosed in their menus. Also, some of the entrees have additional ingredients added again not listed in menu which is hard for those with any allergies. When things were addressed the server was very dry and bossy and the manager laughed it off and said would just take soup off bill. Over all a bad first and last experience and we will no longer be returning.

They were very busy . The food was awesome, and a lot of it. Was there today, 2/23/25. Our server had better things to do in the back. Waited for 10 minutes for him to finish his conversation. Finally, the other server got him to get us a refill and check. The food was good as always.

No buffet wed night. Order of two egg rolls was luke warm and soft. Probably laying around for a while. Ordered Mongolian Beef, was heavy on sugar sauce and beef was chewy and somewhat tough. 2 stars because waitress was nice.
