The staff their lacks knowledge, to the point where it could jeopardize your study or your job prospect as international students. Happened to me 3 times before, they avoided working with students to solve their OPT/CPT problems when there are solutions simply because they don't have enough experience and don't want to do research into the issue. I always found the solutions and worked with other HRs instead. Terrible

Especially when it comes to replying to emails, their service is awful. Never answer the question straight forward and always refer back to the instructions. To file for OPT, I had to use the guide from another university.

Very supportive. OIE team makes sure all international students, scholars and workers comply with DHS, Immigration, USCIS laws, regulations and rules. Very inclusive entity of the University of Georgia. They’re very quick in processing major immigration documents, assisting with those in hiring process or adjustment of status, organizing workshops on immigration and related issues. They will treat you like their family members, work with your advisor and departments in a very comprehensive manner. OIE is also a place where foreign nationals can share their cultures and realities through discussions without borders. OIE is like home far from home and that’s why make UGA so attractive to most international students, scholars and visitors.
