Rustic access to the Oconee River. The concrete boat ramp is in very good condition. The river current at the ramp is moderate to swift.

$5 a night for a parking spot and a pit toilet. If you like to do anything other than sit at your campsite or take out your boat, this may not be your place. There's a loud highway nearby. There's a farm across the river that has barking dogs. It seems to be surrounded by private land - not a place for hiking, or even going on walks longer than 10-15 minutes (walking on the road to the highway is about it, unless you enjoy small circles). It's next to a large hill with tall trees, so solar is suboptimal. Cell service on verizon ranges from 1 to 2 bars - but it's not 0 bars.

No visible trails for hiking. Not ideal for fishing either. If you have a boat or just wanna camp in the woods, then it may suit you. But it's not the best place.

5 campsites. Each with a table and fire pit. They claim to have grills but they are all rusted out and basically just rusted metal stumps in the ground with no actual grill. The bathrooms are exactly what you'd expect with a vault toilet, which is fine - except that the doors are hanging off the hinges at an angle so that the door doesn't close without enormous pressure. The place is loaded with trash. Step outside your small tent pad and you can't go more than a step or two without hitting someone's old, aged, trash. There are bear-proof trash cans on site, but they were so full I could barely squeeze my trash in. You can hear the highway, the info signs are falling apart, there's trash everywhere, and the bathroom doors don't close easily. I don't see any reason to return. Also, the trail up to the Skull Shoals site is indefinitely (?) closed.

Been enjoying this camping spot for years now especially when the fish are running

Beautiful! Well maintained, quiet, and peaceful. The campsites have a fire pit with grill attachments, a gravel area for tents, picnic tables, a lantern hook, and drive up parking. No electric or clean water, so prepare accordingly. We went in April and got to enjoy the most beautiful night sky, complimented by the lightning bugs! There is some oise from traffic, but we barely noticed it. There's also a boat ramp that my kids enjoyed dipping their toes into.

I love camping so for me this place is what camping is about. I use a tent because campers ain't camping to me and this place makes tent camping great

This is a perfect little spot off highway 15. I always stop by if I'm going past. My favorite part are the campgrounds. They're large and spaced out, with about 7 in total I think, so its very quiet. You can fish here, but there's not much shoreline so bring a boat. There is a camping fee but it's on the cheaper end.

Good stop over spot but not much to do if you were camping longer term. Was flooded sometime in the recent past which washed out the main trail. We did enjoy wandering around in the woods though. Lots of fruit flies and the mosquitoes come out in force at dusk but not for long. We saw a few snakes. Pit toilet is outside the entrance to the campground so it’s a little bit of a walk
