Part 2 of HORRIBLE problems we have- we have had this dripping water for MONTHS. Have put in emergency requests for no one to come. I got pneumonia and had the place tested for mold for them to not say there was no moisture in this specific spot. It has been actively leaking with water so lie told there. All my roommates have called MULTIPLE times for NOTHING to happen. I am counting down the days until move out comes. You can ask any active resident all the problems with living at the Rive. Please take this as a sign.

This place is awful, I truly could not recommend this place any less. The ONLY good thing about this place is its close to downtown. It is an old apartment that they slapped paint on and raised the prices. Utilities were a constant scam. In July, when no one was even living there for summer, they charged us $109 each (total $438) and the bill had two separate electric charges, including one just labeled ‘Electricity 3.’ Whenever we questioned it, they’d promise to credit it on the next bill they never did. One month utilities were $170 each (total $681) for a 4-bedroom flat in Athens, which is ridiculous. There were always bugs because the doors aren't sealed properly. Im not gonna even start with how appliances were constantly breaking; fridge, dryer, washing machine. The maintenance crew are extremely nice and do what they can but its difficult when everything is constantly breaking.

Where to even start .. the past reviews hit the nail on the head. Property management and office staff are negligent and unresponsive. You could have a busted pipe and you’d need to walk to the office just to get an answer. Apartment was never cleaned, nor were the stained, destroyed carpets replaced before we moved in. They also think just because you paint a POS complex white - it’s brand new. You’ll have constant Wifi and A/C problems. They even started charging for parking just to make a few extra bucks from the lack of tenants they have across 3 properties lol. Also decided to include a view from my apartment! Beautiful isn’t it?! Been there for almost a month now and still there to this day. No need to even respond Newberry we both know even if we did “discuss” your pathetic community management nothing would change and I probably wouldn’t even get a response.

The units are decent and currently getting renovated. My place was max $900/month which was nice for location, but moving in February during semester for renovations is ridiculous and should not be allowed. The renovations were not even major changes besides new carpet and hardwood (still not a big improvement). My roommate and I had to take all of our stuff out of our place to a temporary place, and we have to move back when there is only a month of school left. Flat out the dumbest and most pointless thing I've ever done. No considerations for students.

10/10 as always!! My apartment was having some trouble with our washing machine, and the crew showed up promptly to help us out. Angela worked tirelessly to make sure everything was clean and up to our standards. She is so professional and such a pleasure to have in our home. Thank you again to the Newberry Maintenance team!!

Ryan Hooper, Lamar, and Alex have been helpful and kind to me and my roommates everytime we see them on the property or do maintenance on our unit. They care about our safety and well-being. Our place is in a lot better shape with them apart of the maintenance crew and I am very pleased with their work.

My time at Newberry has been great. I love the apartment and how spacious everything is. The staff go above and beyond to help with maintenance and cleaning. The staff members I have come in contact with the most during my time as a resident have been Angela and Lamar. They are amazing. I have never run into either one of them when they are not in a smiling, positive mood. Its refreshing to live somewhere that I can be greeting with friendly faces!

While we have had MANY issues with our apartment, the maintenance team is amazing. Ryan has been super helpful every time we have a problem. He is very quick to respond and fix the issue. He communicates well and helps you understand why the problem is happening and how he is fixing it.
