I’m not a regular at this bar - but recently visited with my niece and we had a good time. Interesting crowd for sure - but there were no problems and everyone was nice. We had some shots and sang karaoke, fun night!

I really enjoyed this awesome fish fry and great singing and dancing to karaoke Dj George. If you are a pool player you will have fun too. I watched a few minutes of some really great shots by good players ( ; will for sure go back. Met a lot of friendly folks.

Would leave a 0 star review if I could. They don’t ID at the door and the OWNER wants to harass and target people who don’t look 21 and tell them to get out. My friend showed her ID with no issues and the owner had an attitude from the get go. Again, THE OWNER, had her husband chase us out and harassed us until we left. This place is made for TRASH because that’s who owns it. The owners act like they are holier than thou. I will never go back.

Atmosphere? Good. Friendliness? Great. Prices? One could dine at a downtown rooftop bar for the same price. $8.50 for a Jack and Coke (in a small plastic cup) is too much for a regular bar option. We'd be weekly regulars if the prices were more in line with other bars in the area.

The oldest bar in Athens. (Not handicapped friendly due to its age.) Karaoke and pool in a hometown bar setting. Ya go there for a good time with friends. Go somewhere else for a bad time.

Google needs to correct the description of this, as it is a bar and not a beer store 😂😂 It's a GREAT place to meet up with friends for a drink and sing some karaoke like a rock star. Think of "Cheers" if you want an adequate description of Mell's. The only negative is that it gets super crowded and they keep only one door open and it gets EXTREMELY HOT inside, making it miserable. My husband and I used to frequent this place but we can't deal with the overcrowding and no air.

Enjoy the mixture of customers, especially listening to the ones who can really sing good. Love Beth (who normally runs the karaoke) miss her when she is away. Great place to hang out with friends and enjoy some music, dance, or play some pool.

A bar room separates a room for playing pool and video games and another for karaoke. Down to earth locals and country folk. I feel right at home here in my blue jeans and boots. Budweiser = $3.
