Seams To Be is a stunning exhibit celebrating the creative and technical expertise of fiber artists. This rich and important exhibit explores the genius of textile art, an art that is often demoted to "craft" through hundreds of years of American sexism and racism. The fact that every person I interacted with and saw in the museum was white begs the question: Do you love and uplift Black People or only Black art?

Beautiful location to visit and view featured artists. We were there to view and honor Lloyd Florence with family and friends. We enjoyed the historic house too. I highly recommend visiting it and taking time to read the displayed informational plaques explaining the house and some of it's interworking. You will appreciate the history.

Beautiful history home with new Art Museum attached to the back. The art work was remedial, not much to look at. The historic home itself was great. Love the architectural interior trims and staircases. They have a beautiful gown displayed in a case as well. Interesting place.

A great place to see wonderful artists such as the world-famous Abner Cope and works by the creator of the art piece 'Come Onto Me' - Yvonne Studevan. From the entrance area where Harold Rittenberry has a wonderful metal art installation, to major shows featuring art by Vernon Thornsberry - The Lyndon House is a 'must visit' when in Georgia!

Very cool place. It seems they have different themed exhibits every so often, presumably by local artists. It's a smaller art museum type place but very lovely to be in and look at, quality artwork as well.

I took my mother visiting from out of town here a few months ago. The woman at the front desk was so nice and even gave us a scavenger hunt sheet for my son. The second time we went, however, the woman at the front desk (a different older woman with glasses) was so rude and acted like we were intruding. She barked at us to be quiet because there was an event going on. When I was waiting for my sister while she was in the restroom, I overheard the woman muttering about us and our kids to another lady that was sitting next to the front desk glass. The kids were giggling, but otherwise being very well behaved and there were absolutely no signs to let us know there was an event going on. Thank you for showing my visiting family that Athens is a city of rude people that does not welcome kids. Bring back the nice lady and get rid of the mean old bag at the front desk.

Attended 44th juried exhibition. It was fantastic! Some very talented artists. Exhibition covered a range - painting, weaving, photography, digital photography, mixed media, etc. I went a little after lunch on a Thursday and it wasn't crowded. Parking on site and on the street. Admission is free.
