I am beginning my fourth year here. I love all the staff, both office and maintenance. This complex is older, so the kitchen isn't as modern as you see in newer complexes, but what mattered so much to me was the mature landscaping, a sense of "feeling safe", the wonderful location, and the fact that it is so pet friendly. Also I love meeting and getting to know people of all ages as this gives me a true sense of community. I highly recommend!

Don’t move here. If I could give it zero stars, I would. They are very unorganized with their work orders and paperwork. They made me pay for something that was previously damaged and the floor plan is not built for functional upkeep. I lived here for three years without central air, no AC and no heat. Nothing is updated and the turnover apartment process is disgusting.

I enjoyed living at Legacy Mill. It has been one of the better apartment complexes I have lived at in Athens. Maintenance has always been quick to respond and courteous. The office staff has always been helpful and very nice. I also enjoy the amenities that they have to offer. I would recommend anyone to live here if they are looking to live in an apartment in Athens, GA. Go Dawgs!

Kyle Mowry and Mckenzie Chancellor are both exceptional in their service. I am always treated with a consistent level of care even after calling them several times for the past few months. There's so much automation with customer service it is refreshing to find a company taking the time to hire charismatic people and train them to this level of performance. After signing for a lease, the tenant living there decided to extend their stay. I was expecting a problem as I've been applying to several places within Athens and been dealing with a lot of unnecessary process. The Legacy mill team has been accommodating not only with price but with their time and service. I have felt very helped, and listened to during this whole process and not only do I look forward to starting my lease, I will recommend this property to my friends and family.

Beautiful place to live as far. I had miner and major issues with AC or the thermostat, two years, back to back summers ( it was horrible and took weeks to fix). Management has had trouble with their maintenance team for a couple years. Simply can put a work order in and never get a response or for maintenance to fix problem. This only seems to happen when they can’t fix the issue. The property management team are wonderfully nice as well as professional. But the property managers won’t help or work with you if you have personal or financial issues. The team plays and follows the rules even if your on your death bed. Rent must be paid on time. Hope this information help. Not saying Legacy Mill isn’t a nice place to stay. It’s very peaceful just make sure you get what you want if you decide to move here. I currently live here, been going on four years. My only problems have been management and maintenance. Don’t have to worry about neighbors as long as you keep it peaceful 👍🏽🤞🏽✌🏽

Don't move here, just don't. It's really bad & every single "good" review on here has to be paid off, because there's NO WAY they actually lived in this apartment complex. We have had nothing but issues since we moved here over a year ago. From multiple ant infestations, to our A/C going out every 4 months (almost causing an electrical fire in our 3rd floor apt). No one cleans up after their dogs. There is trash & bugs coating the breezeways. This place is a rip off & will make you hate everyone, especially living here. Below are some lovely photos of what I get to look at everyday.

Long post; I apologize in advance. I have lived at Legacy Mills for my lease term and chose not to renew. I did not leave with any adverse, angry, or disgruntled feelings towards the complex; however, they could benefit from some improvements. I have taken the time to write this review so others are aware if you choose to move there. My experience has been decent overall. I have been fortunate enough never to be late on my rent. I gave my 60-day notice before moving, my renter's insurance remained until the termination of my lease, and I cleaned the apartment before moving. There have only been minor hick-ups that have reinforced the nature of apartment living here, but overall, I would give the complex 2.5 stars. The leasing office staff are as helpful as possible within the lease's confines. As with any apartment complex, they will adhere to what is outlined in your lease to the letter, as you should. Nothing more, nothing less. Make sure to READ IT THROUGHLY and understand what is outlined before signing. The maintenance crew is accommodating and speedy with their repairs; however, I have achieved the best results by filing a report online and going to them directly. (Be nice to them). They are confined within the guidelines set forth by the lease and restrictions of the office/complex, but they will do what they can to help. For example, one eye on my stove does not work, while the others do not maintain the temperature sufficiently. This is a hazard, and I constantly check the stove to ensure things do not get out of hand. I have reached out twice for repair; each time, they arrive within a day or two to check things out. As they explained, they could attempt to fix the eye, which they did (it stopped working a week later). But, when maintaining the temperature, the limit is: if the eye, while on high turns red, by Legacy Mills standards, it "works" and it's "sufficient". We know there is a wide range between low and high, and the stove should maintain temperature, but again, within the confines of the lease… the stove works. One major problem I must address is the bugs I find at Legacy Mills despite the "pest services" and my attempts to spray. I feel the pest represents a more significant issue at legacy mills that should be addressed. I routinely see at least three types of bugs in and around my apartment. I'll be specific… Phorrid flies (scuttle bugs/coffin flies) seem to appear from the drains in the bathroom and kitchen (which have an odor). They look like fruit flies but are entirely different. They signal a drainage issue as they are attracted to dead and decaying organic matter like dead animals and mold. Spiders (Orb Weaver Spiders): make large webs in the trees and the corners of the apartment buildings. Being true spiders, they are not hanging around because it's a fantastic place; they're present because there is something to eat, i.e., other bugs—the most stress-inducing bug of all Roaches (Smokey Brown Roaches). I have seen multiple life cycle stages of these roaches: Small nymphs appear on the walls and ceilings, medium nymphs appear to crawl through the vents and plugs, large adults appear through large openings (faulty window seals, door seals, and out of the AC unit closet). The office will tell you that we are in Georgia, and they are a part of the environment… that is correct. I have walked outside late at night to take out the trash at Legacy Mills, and I have seen roaches in the parking lot, on the sidewalk, on the side of the garages, and on the exterior wall of the apartments. I have seen a few instances where cars hit them in the parking lot, representing the sheer number that can be present just outside the apartment building. Their presence within the environment and ability to access the apartment are environmental and structural issues. Peak time, Fall-October-ish.

Be careful!!! After 2 weeks several neighbors smoke pot! The local management is a joke! They are only there to collect rent! !daughter Had to leave and pay $6000 to get out of lease! If you are considering legacy mills DON’T! UPDATE: Called and spoke to mike keith and he said the regional manager would contact me. That did not happen! Consulted a Lawyer and unfortunately the state says it is illegal to smoke pot unfortunately clarke county nor the local management enforce clear rules of no smoking pot. They act hostile when you try and state your position! Just like other people have stated on here there are two sides of management here the nice side before you sign lease and the hostile side when you encounter a problem. Run don’t walk away from this problem before you suffer the expensive lesson our daughter found out! When they tell you, they are sorry they don’t mean it, but you better believe them!!

I'm a repeat resident, and my partner and I enjoy living here with our two cats. You get a good amount of space for the price. I love the big walk-in closets and garden tub. The on-site amenities are nice - pool, tennis courts, walkways, grill areas, playground, dog park. The on-site maintenance team is truly a blessing: they can and do respond quickly to emergency issues. The residents are a mix of city and college and family folks, and most people are friendly. Yes, you do hear other people at all times of the day/night, and you can occasionally smell their meals or smoke through the shared plumbing... But these are standard apartment issues you're going to find anywhere at this price point in older apartments. I've lived elsewhere in Athens, and I returned here to Legacy Mill for a reason. It's a pleasant place to live for a fair price, and any negatives I've encountered here are just due to humans being humans living close to each other in a big complex.

I’ve lived here five years. Good floorplans, excellent management and maintenance teams, quiet community, and utilities included. Rent costs increase every time I renew the lease, with a recurring $50 fee for paying rent online. Trash and recycling collection is an issue, with the dumpster usually overflowing into the road. There are not enough parking spots for each unit, so you will often have to park far from your apartment during spring and fall. Residents with pets often leave droppings in grass.
