Our daughter moved into Ikon this fall after having her last apartment sold out from under her. In was great to work with in our urgent search for a new place. Move in was simple, the property is beautiful and well maintained. The office is always responsive and safety is a top priority for them. We’re very pleased with our choice and have already resigned for next year. Highly recommend

Living at Ikon Athens has been nothing short of legendary. This place doesn’t feel like an apartment — it feels like a perfectly run resort disguised as student housing. The units are spotless, modern, and WAY nicer than anything else in Athens. The walls are clean, the appliances are new, and everything actually works the way it’s supposed to. The staff? Elite. They’re unbelievably friendly and somehow always on top of every request. Maintenance shows up lightning fast — like you put in a ticket and suddenly they’re knocking on your door. I’ve never seen an apartment run this smoothly. The area is quiet, safe, and just far enough from the chaos of college life to feel peaceful, but still close to everything you need. Parking is easy, the vibe is calm, and the whole complex feels well-kept every single day. After living here, it’s honestly hard to imagine staying anywhere else in Athens. Ikon sets the bar, and then clears it by a mile. If you want the best student living experience possible, this is the place.

The Ikon in Athens provides a unique feel as you drive through the gates. You are immediately greeted by a beautiful pool, amenities, and large living areas that are second to none when it comes to quality and a luxurious feel. The staff there are incredibly kind and efficient. Located on Barnett Shoals Road, you have immediate access to the great the city of Athens. There’s no other place I’d rather spend my time than at the Ikon.

I called to get info about next years leasing and I spoke with Megan and she was amazing — answered everything clearly and even followed up with an email of floor plans and pricing. You don’t always get that kind of customer service with student housing. Really appreciated the extra effort.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. DO NOT. DO NOT. DO NOT. The poor reviews you see are all true, most of these reviews are flooded with friends of front desk workers or people who toured but after living here for a year I can officially say this is the worst management in Athens I have EVER EVER dealt with. Management went through a transition during my lease and the new lady is no better than the last, if not worse. I’ve had so many poor experiences at this place that it only feels right to let others know before they THINK about signing here. The only positive thing about this place was the size of my room. My roommates and I dealt with… -unprofessional, disrespectful, inattentive staff -poor communication -items left behind from previous tenants upon move in -missing and broken items upon move in - dirty common area upon move in -$$$$ charge for mold that was NOT caused by my roommates or I, but rather by THEIR negligence to properly inspect the water lines. They claimed a broken water line behind our fridge should’ve been noticed by us months before we found a leak from the dishwasher that wasn’t leading from the fridge at all, which led to the discovery of about a 6ft chunk of mold we were later charged for. The documents they gave to support the charges were very very vague and the invoice from their third party support led to a suspicious address. All this is to say, we suspected we were being scammed very early on… their ”invoice” literally appeared as if they typed it up on a Google doc the night before. Nothing was handled professionally. Nothing. After reading another review on here that had the same situation - take these reviews as a true warning. - roaches… everyone knows your apartment is likely to have critters when it’s hot and you live by woods, but why pay for pest control when they are never sent/ensure the job is fully taken care of?? We’ve had SEVERAL wasp nests that had to be repeatedly mentioned to the staff for them to take care of -the townhomes were built in the 2000s so everything is outdated, unless your unit had a renovation for whatever reason. So, the AC doesn’t work as it should, the water pressure isn’t consistent - even with manual adjustment, items are worn down, etc. -the guest gate never works - not a huge deal, but very irritating when you need to let someone through and can’t -the pool seems to always be dirty The amenities aren’t nice enough to be persuaded to stay, and the location isn’t super ideal with the constant construction at the Barnett shoals intersection that leads to major highways creating major traffic - getting to class is a nightmare when they decide to work on the roads. Moral of the story - just don’t sign here. Find somewhere else worth your money and time, because Ikon Athens will waste both.

Ikon at Athens is a great place. There a lot of roach problems in Athens and the Ikon has great pest control. Not to mention the amenities are great with close access to downtown.

If you’re considering moving here, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This complex is loaded with hidden fees — from mandatory services you didn’t sign up for to surprise charges that show up without warning. Maintenance requests take forever (if they’re answered at all), and even basic issues like broken door locks go unresolved for weeks. That’s not just inconvenient — it’s unsafe. Management is another problem altogether. Requests for help are usually met with rudeness or complete indifference. You’ll be made to feel like a burden just for asking for things that should already be handled. Between the slow service, lack of security, and dismissive attitude from the office, this place simply isn’t worth the stress or the money. Rent elsewhere if you want peace of mind.
