Cindy opened a door and window to a learning experience that I have never had before! She has an amazing ability to get you to understand the fluidity of DRESSAGE. She got me to really be able to feel my horse, AURORA, beneath me and how imperative it is that I establish and maintain the Rhythm and Momentum of her gaits. She teaches as if she were superimposed with you in the saddle. She has an amazing to understand the anatomy of the horse as it relates to dressage movement. I think I actually really understand BENDING. I didn’t completely understand basic mechanics until I was under her spell! YES, she really is a witch, an AWESOMELY GOOD WITCH! The Good Dressage Witch of the Universe! And she is such a beautiful lady inside and out. She is a one of a kind and a precious soul. I truly Love her for all her GOODNESS! She has a wonderful family. Greg is the best husband and partner to Cindy, Dad, Granddad and Friend. Her girls are so very beautiful and talented. Jessica is the cats meow! Alex is a Doll! We live out of the USA but have travelled several times to High Point for Dressage training for my daughter as Cindy Thaxton is, quite simply, one of the best Dressage trainers you will find anywhere in the world. She has an instinctive ability to communicate even the most subtle of body adjustments in a way that personally resonates with each individual rider. Jessica is also a hugely talented rider and trainer who gives confidence to the riders and horses to be the best they can. The facilities are fantastic and set in a stunning location. I can't recommend High Point highly enough!

Awesome place to ride. I do dressage. Cindy Thaxton is the dressage instructor and she teaches the classical way of dressage. Very patient. If you want to learn how to ride Alex Thaxton will be your instructor over at the Academy (about 1 mile down the road). There is one indoor arena and one outdoor jumping arena and another small outdoor dressage arena. There is also a "trail" around the property. The Thaxtons run a great barn. Cindy Thaxton is an excellent dressage trainer, and her daughters Jessica and Alex, run a fantastic hunter/eq/jumper program from beginner all the way up, including a winning IEA Team. We have bought two horses through the Thaxtons and have a third horse at their retirement facility. You will not find a more honest, professionally-run place, and its a pleasure to be there.
