We were traveling to FL from VA on I-85. I've always wanted to stop in Hartwell. The lake is so pretty. I didn't realize the Hampton Inn was about 20 or 30 minutes off the Hwy, but I'm so glad we went anyway. The hotel isn't on the lake but just a short drive down the road. We went back on our return trip because Bernice at the desk was so friendly and professional. We felt welcomed both times. We also liked chatting with Bili in the breakfast area. All staff was friendly and helpful. If we looked like we had a question or needed something, they noticed and asked if they could help. Hotel was clean, beds comfortable. The best part of the stays was the kind, helpful, friendly employees working there who made us feel like special guests. Thank you, Bernice, Bili, and other employees of Hartwell Hampton Inn. I hope you are all recognized for a job well done.

Hotel is nice, new and clean . Breakfast includes some hot choices but they ran out of oatmeal and did not refill many items. Some of the front desk associates were rude. We were charged 3.50 for a canned sprite. Highway robbery for a soda! We were told that the sprite was free since we were Hilton Honors and then we were charged for it! The desk person complained that we requested several bottled waters . We never got a bottled water! I was really upset with the desk service. Our room was only cleaned 2 times on a 7 day stay. We also did not receive fresh linens because lack of cleaning.

Clean, quiet, friendly staff. Stayed for one night. Great hotel. Breakfast was filling and fresh. I do recommend. Hotel is around 10 years old but feels new.

I am rating this Hampton Inn/Hilton this because the service was shotty. We are Diamond Members & are always greeted by staff. We were not. Secondly once we told the staff member the we were Diamond members, she never said a word except, “Oh.” & still never thanked us for being Elite Members, which is custom for Hilton staff members, nor did she offer us our arrival gifts. We were very disappointed with her attitude altogether. To top that, the coffee was AWFUL! The worst I’ve had in a long time. I got some last night & it was awful, so I gave the benefit of the doubt that it was late. This morning my husband wouldn’t even drink it, so that’s worst than awful. The room was super clean, the decor was inviting and it had a very homey feel to it. Other than that one staff member, it was pretty good.

Ever since hotels switched to shampoo in bottles attached to the wall, one of my absolute pet peeves has been not having amenities the first morning you wake up in a hotel. This time the conditioner bottle was empty. In a fit of rage a pulled it off the wall and left the empty bottle in the shower thinking "surely they will fill it when they make up the room". My hopes were obviously set too high - the empty bottle was right there in the shower after they cleaned the room. It is completely unacceptable that a Hampton in that counts almost two hundred per night can't provide the most basic amenities like conditioner. It's an embarrassment to the entire hospitality industry. I complained upon checkout and the manager promised some extra hilton points for the inconvenience. I followed up about 2 weeks later since I never saw any additional points in my account. Waited another couple of weeks and still no points. Guess they got me twice.

Second time staying at this location. The handicap room we stayed in was very roomy. Giving my husband plenty of room to move around in his wheelchair. The bathroom is very large. Gab bars on the left perfect for our situation. Staff very accommodating and morning breakfast provided several options.

Highway robbery…. 188 dollars a night this isn’t a beach resort this is Hartwell Georgia….. a dump of a town. Woman at front desk was rude.. do not stay take the drive outa town… give your money to another place then this greedy place…

I've been staying at the Hampton practically every week in the last 6 months for work, I've met everybody of the staff, one friendlier than the next. I keep coming back because I'm perfectly satisfied with everything in this place, I have always found my room tidy and neat, it's quiet and greatly located. Breakfast is decent, personally I don't have any complaints with it.
