Out of all the places I've lived in Athens this has been the better experience. I personally don't have high expectations for housing in Athens and overall I've been desensitized to the standards in the area. however here's my thoughts on the Gran Ellen Managed by Joiner and Associates: Pros: walking distance to UGA and restaurants, cute Historic building, Fast and great maintenance like very fast (sometimes within hours fast usually in a day or two but never over a week), Nice office staff, nice property managers, easy payment and management system, ample parking, nice private hallway, about 4 units to a building so not so many people, easy to apply (I applied and signed the lease within the next day after inquiring so they are fast), laundry mat right next door, on milledge and HS UGA bus routes. Cons: UGA Game-days and Clarke central high cause extreme traffic on milledge so getting home and back is difficult at times, No in unit laundry or hookups (however get a compact washer/dryer that uses a sink and 120v and youre set), Historic brick building (VERY humid(invest in a dehumidifier) and outdated), Some buildings had bad plumbing issues and experienced flooding (mine did not), EXPENSIVE for what it is. Overall I enjoyed my time here, it was cozy it was my home for a little over 2 years, I had nice and quiet neighbors, the building is old and has really old/outdated features which to some like myself are charming and to others inconvenient so please do your research and schedule a showing. I would've stayed longer but they kept raising rent and although the location will make it worth it to some I just couldn't justify it. It was just simply so expensive for what the complex had to offer outside location.
