My niece had her wedding at the venue. It was a beautiful venue! The house and grounds are nestled in a tiny quaint old town. The house is lovely with a very generous wrap around porch. We stayed overnight before the wedding while others stayed after the wedding. The screened in back upper porch looked over the pond , gardens and woods. Charming house, great owners, original art, tranquil charm galore. I can see lots of possibilities for events, art retreats of decompressing from a busy life.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Gillen House, which sits in a quiet part of rural GA close to Athens. The grounds have been expertly designed, full of flowering plants, with many locations that are picture worthy. Rooms have been renovated to a high standard, but look historic, with old furniture, high ceilings, and original art created by one owner. Everything guests might need is provided, including a screened porch where we drank our coffee before a delightful breakfast. The hosts are a distinct pleasure to talk with, and (we also joined them for dinner one night) the food they create is wonderful!

The Gillen House was perfect for our anniversary weekend getaway. The house is charming and we loved seeing all of the art. The bed was comfortable, the shower had good water pressure, and everything was spotlessly clean. We loved walking through the garden and having coffee on the porches and by the pond. Cynzia and Edward are very friendly and accommodating hosts. They gave us recommendations for things to do in the area and made us a lovely picnic basket. Edward is a great cook - dinner and breakfast were delicious! We also loved spending time with the cats (they aren’t allowed in the bedrooms). Such personalities. :) We’ll definitely be back.
