I know all churches have issues, but to find the homeless sleeping on the literally church doorstep is not a positive experience of Christianity. The locked doors and strong fences show that keeping our the undesirable is not something that has happened by accident. It's unfortunate to see such examples.

Grateful to find a church with such kind, humble, and authentic people from members to leadership. Serving the downtown Athens community in so many ways and providing opportunities for members to grow in faith, connect and fellowship. New to Athens, we have been visiting numerous churches. After several visits to FBC here, every person has been kind, welcoming, and gracious without exception. Lovely Bible-based congregation with a traditional style worship. Multiple Sunday School options as well.
