I had a terrible experience with my marriage license application and process. we submitted the application and were told to pick a date for marriage, so we did. We call that week and were told that there was never an appointment made and that we had to go back and set one up. So we did, but we were not told to bring anything on the day of except our identifications. The staff there is not very welcoming nor patient. I tried calling about a name change and the lady on the phone was very rude and not helpful at all. Would not recommend getting married here as the staff is not very efficient at communicating important things and they have a terrible attitude.

Went to renew my notary certification. There is ample paid parking available on Hancock and Washington St. The only entrance that is open is the one off of the Hancock parking deck. The sheriff checkpoint is very quick and efficient. I was a bit turned around since I had only entered through the front in the past, and everyone I encountered was very helpful in pointing me to the right direction.

Pleasantly better than I expected. I was able to find parking downtown. Though a lot of entrances are closed, except the one off the parking deck, we were able to move through check point quickly.

A great place to get charges pressed. The judge is very nice and won’t give you the maximum penalty, but everyone in the room still left with a ridiculous sentence for exclusively malum prohibitum crimes so I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a drastic change to your boring old daily routine. There’s also plenty of cheap parking which you’ll appreciate when all the court fees wipe you nice and clean.

Not that going to court for a ticket is ever a good thing but the judicial system here is fair and very progressive. I am proud of Athens for this aspect of their community. Judge Ryan Hope is non biased and leaves personal views and personal judgments in the parking lot. He is by the book and fair and straight forward. Show respect and you get respect in municipal court. I have watched enough courtroom videos to say that we would all be lucky if all Court proceedings were carried out in the same fashion as how things go in his courtroom. Be nice people!

Went to the courthouse only to be told they don’t have a notary. Really?! Also, employees act like it’s an inconvenience to DO THEIR JOBS! Do better!

Sad how we still feel the need to give our 💰 away. Please young world stay out trouble. All that money adds up for the system. Not you. I dont care about your ethnicity we are all targets. …

Everyone is aware that going to the courthouse isn't the most pleasant places in the world to have to be depending upon the reason for visiting. With that being said,it was about as pleasant as could be expected.
