Unsafe for most Athens residents, homeless or not. I noticed those sitting on the bench by the pingpong table telling customers walking by where to go. They apparently did not like me sitting at the park. All I did was rest and eat a snack. The sign someone posted into the photos here seems to confirm it (screenshot below). It does not exist at Cobbham Triangle Park in Athens GA. Red would be meth, white would be cocaine. I saw MANY customers walking and jogging by in a short time (~12ish in about an hour, many nornal people walked or jogged by as well, and a few of what looked like driving customers parking or circling, like the cop did). They would try to talk to the bench guys, seem a little confused / upset, then most would go into one of the houses right behind them, or wander around a little til I left. It seemed very obvious. Police harrassed me there, I suppose because of this. I was just resting and eating a snack. Guess I know why Athens has drug problems.
