I have played the guitar professionally for over six decades. I have had a lot of very qualified people work on my guitars through the years but Dylan of Classic City Vintage Guitars in Athens GA has a magic touch that I have never experienced before. He does such excellent work, I cannot recommend his store and his work highly enough. His store is amazing it is fun just to go there and see all of the incredible vintage guitars and amplifiers. On top of all that Dylan is a great guy! Thank you sir for everything.

I found a greatly loathed Gibson LP with the neck width of a cricket willow bat on some used guitar website. I decided to go directly to the seller Classic City Vintage Guitars and get a better price. Dylan answered all my questions and worked with me. It was a guitar that was an estate sales and never? played. He even double-checked with me before shipping it because this is NOT a guitar for most people. Super heavy, super chunky....but oh what a gorgeous tone and sustain! It's just wonderful. Dylan did a fantastic job setting it up. It was like pulling a guitar out of a 10 yr old time capsule. After 50 yrs of playing cheap guitars through 20 bands and record contract....I finally get to play a real geetar. Thanks Classic City & Dylan!

Many thanks to Dylan and his team at Classic City Vintage Guitars in Athens. Dylan set up my Sonic Grey Fender American Professional Jaguar and my new Japanese Momose Stratocaster. I have had guitars set up in the past, but Dylan adjusted these to a standard beyond what any prior setups were able to accomplish and both sound better than ever. He also turned them around very expeditiously and communicated with me on any issues encountered during the process. I highly recommend those who want to have a really quality setup done to visit Classic City Vintage Guitars. Beyond the service, the store is a real treat. Every visit is an excuse to check out museum quality pieces including vintage teles and strats, vintage amps, and many, many more. Dylan is also extremely knowledgeable about music and guitars and it is always a joy to catch up with someone with such a passion for music and guitars. This is the kind of shop that musicians should seek out and patronize. When you think about music and Athens this is the kind of shop that comes to mind and we should all support it to ensure that it is here for years to come.

Dylan is a wonderful and honest salesman. He fixed up a Regal parlor guitar for me from the 1930's and it is my go-to guitar. I play it live and at home all the time and I am excited to play it for the rest of my life. Beyond his wide range of guitars in-store, he is quick to fix any problems and answers any questions I may have.

Love this shop! Bought my kid their first guitar here, a customized Fender Telecaster. Dylan spent a good hour going over everything with them and answered every question they had. They’ve got a lifelong customer here!

I normally do my own guitar setups and minor work at home. However, I had made a recent guitar purchase and really wanted it to be dialed in perfectly. Everyone I asked pointed me to Dylan at Classic City Vintage. Needless to say, I took my new Revstar to Dylan for a new bone nut and a setup and he knocked it out of the park. This is about as close to perfect as I could imagine for a setup. Everything is absolutely dialed from the new nut, the intonation, the action, to the pickup height. I will definitely be returning when needed and can only give the highest recommendation!

Dylan over at Classic city Guitars runs a really tight shop, if you ever need a guitar they have good deals on stuff from entry level pricepoints all the way to "holy heck how do they have this" one of a kind type instruments. I have taken three of my guitars here for work and they fixed a small problem on one of them without even charging me, and did a great job setting up/installing pickups on the other two. Also just a great place to hangout and meet other musicians and learn about the local music scene, it's a real hidden gym in Athens, would recommend to anyone who likes music even if you don't play guitar!

You'll find a perfect blend of professionalism and approachability here. Dylan's extremely knowledgable, reliable, and supportive. I've always felt taken care of here and same for anyone I know. As a customer, I greatly cherished buying my '88 strat from Dylan. It's been a delight to own and play thanks to him. The reviews are for real - he's the guy. It's always been a joy knowing and coming to CCVG. :)

Great shop and a strong collection of amps, guitars and collectible instruments. Dylan was super cool to meet and talk to - make sure you give his shop some love, you deserve to play a good guitar...

I brought my bass in to get some bigger strings put on as well as a setup. They had to make some alterations like filing the nut and drilling the bridge to accomodate them. They reached out to me before making these alterations which I greatly appreciated. They had my instrument back to me within the timeframe they estimated and had it setup beautfully. The shop is absolutely awesome and has quite a nice collection of instruments, amps, pedals and accessories as well as some vinyls! Dylan is an absolute gem of a human being. He is super nice, laid back, and easy to talk to. I would absolutely return in the future for sure. ***Just note, the parking lot is a big rough so just keep this in mind before you venture out there in a vehicle that's a little closer to the ground because you might scrape the underside as it's mostly dirt, concrete chunks, and railroad tracks.
