One of the oldest apartment communities here in Athens. Definitely shows it’s age. Privately owned and managed. Not for families. Mostly one bedroom/ one bath basic efficiency apartments. No washer/dryer hookups or in-unit laundry. Laundry facility is not that great. Machines don’t always work well. No dishwasher. Not a lot of storage space. No central air or heat. No pets allowed not even service animals which I believe is illegal. Has plumbing problems and roaches. Still very affordable but has gone up in price twice since last summer. I pay $825 a month and some residents are paying $890 and up. There are a few 2 bedroom apartments not many. Maintenance and management are quick to respond to any issues. But rarely get to the root cause of the issue to permanently fix it. Great neighbors and location. Two miles from five points. On the UGA bus line.

Stayed there for a year between 2022 and 2023. It was managed terribly. The pool and the laundry room (and the machines) were always dirty. We had cockroaches and mice at home as well as different types of bugs. The manager never returned to messages, she was also very difficult to communicate. She even let people in our home without our knowledge to show them around 6 months before our lease ended! She defended herself by saying I gave her permission, which I never did! I didn't even know about it until weeks later. I understand that it may not be easy to find housing around the university but I strongly recommend staying away from this apartments complex if you can, if the management is the same.

I randomly looked this place up because I lived here in 2010-2011. Just so anyone looking knows, the cockroach infestation issue was going on 15 years ago too so looks like that will never change.

2 stars purely for the convenience of the location as a broke UGA student - nothing else. 1. Management is rude and a scammer. Upon move-out inspection, she charged me $50 for rust which had built up on the overhead cooker hood. How could I have possibly caused rust after less than 1 year of occupancy? 2. Apartment is INFESTED with cockroaches. It's a nightmare. You won't get rid of them. 3. Maintenance shows up unannounced to perform work which is not immediately necessary. I found them in the apartment changing the bathtub fossette. There was nothing wrong with the original, and I had not put in any work requests. Overall, bad, bad place and management.

Lived there for two years. Not great Building. Very Noisy and not efficient AC. Dirty washer and dryers. Most importantly, very rude and disrespectful management. Avoid if you have any other options. As far as I know from many other tenants. They will not give you your deposit back and they will insult you in any way they can. Bugs and many other surprising stuff like animal body you will find in or out your apartment. Terrible people to deal with. I don’t recommend anyone to live there

I really loved living at Carousel Village. The manager, Debbie, is very nice and helpful. The apartment was spacious, with a lot of natural light. The bathroom was awesome! The kitchen was kind of tiny but worked for single living. The apartment looked better than most student places in Athens. Everything got fixed in a timely manner. There’s a pool! For the negatives, there was a bit of a roach problem when I lived there (2018-19), and the heater was kind of old in my unit (that may have changed since). However, for the price, it’s better than most other places. If I didn’t have a cat now, I would probably return.

I lived here for one year during my last year of college. When I moved in there was a pretty bad roach problem even before I moved everything of mine in. It never fully got resolved, but it became much less of a problem after working with the office staff and pest control. The walls are pretty thin, I could hear everything my neighbors were saying. However, for the most part my neighbors were always respectful and nice. I really enjoyed living there. Its in a convenient location, the units are good in size and I felt very safe there. I had a great experience!

There are many issues with this complex. My apartment has had an ongoing mouse infestation for the past 4 months with very little being done by management to get the problem under control. There js a large crack under my door that not only affects the temperature of the apartment, driving up my utility bill each month, but it also allows pollen and dust to get inside constantly. The walls are extremely thin and you will be able to hear your neighbor’s every move. Additionally, if you need anything or have any issues, the manager Debbie is fairly unreachable. Don’t ever expect her to be in her office or answer the phone when you call. Not to mention, there were reports of cars being burglarized in the complex. All of these issues, combined with the high price of rent, make this a fairly undesirable place to live.

There is a giant bug problem, especially in the kitchen, to the point where it’s unusable to me now. They advertise as quiet 1 bedrooms yet there were 2-3 people constantly living in the units next to me, including a baby who I can hear crying all day and all night. I can hear every step my neighbor upstairs takes as well. Would not recommend for grad students looking for somewhere quiet to live, or anyone in general looking for somewhere nice to live.

I have been living here for the past year, and I have really enjoyed it mostly because of the location. My complaint is that there is NOT a dishwasher which is not a big deal, but it makes it harder if you enjoy cooking a lot. There is a minor bug problem every now and then too. I also wish there was better communication between the owner and the tenants (EX: normally they write notes on our doors instead of just emailing us announcements), I never know when a maintenance guy or the pest control is going to just walk right in.
