*Disclosure... I've never attended this particular Church of Christ, but I was raised in the religion (there might be some small differences from church to church, but they are fundamentally the same.), so here's my experience... Do NOT raise your children in the Church of Christ.. especially your daughters. My siblings and I were brought up in this mess and it caused so much damage. I was blamed for my sexual assault as a TEEN, was asked to stop teaching Sunday school as soon as one of my male students was baptized, my sister and I were made to feel that we were responsible for the dirty thoughts of males due to what we wore as CHILDREN, taken for virginity checks, shamed for dancing, forced to hide the abuse we suffered at home so we could look like the perfect Church of Christ family, and then SHUNNED and excommunicated as soon as we started showing doubt. Suddenly, you are a pariah to the exact same members you grew up with and who said they loved you. My parents being in the COC meant that the abuse never ceased, mainly because of the fact that the ideology of the church did not encourage any self reflection, but instead made my parents feel like they were already perfect the way they were because their baptism ensured them a place in heaven, so why would they try to change? The COC has recently attempted to "rebrand" themselves after modern times and social media exposure caused their membership numbers to fall drastically. Suddenly we aren't going straight to hell for attending a prom? Good to know. Check out the ex coc subreddit for more testimonies. I'm not the only one. Just do yourself and your family a favor and skip this TOXIC CULT altogether. I've been in therapy for most of my life just trying to recover from the damage that's been done. There are tons of religious options out there. Trust me, you don't need this black and white ideology to get into heaven. Oh, and they think they are the ONLY ones going to heaven, btw

I've been a member of Campus View for many years now & I have to say it has been like family almost since the first day. Everyone always makes you feel welcomed & the services are great too. I've watched as my children grew up in this church & even as me & my dear sweet husband Joe grew more in God's word in this church & when I lost him four years ago I saw how this family at my church came together to comfort me through one of the hardest times of my life. God poured out his love through Everyone in this church & held me together even when I felt like I couldn't hold on any longer. I thank God daily for everyone at this church!! Hope who ever reads this can join us & experience this same love & presence of God!!

This was our first actual church many years ago. We also got married here. So many wonderful people. We miss them terribly. We moved to another state, but if we ever moved back to Athens this is where we would be.

We went for one Sunday service and everyone is so friendly! Very welcoming bunch of people who do t let a stranger slip away without getting to know them. We’ve been attending now for just over a month and will keep coming! Love Campus View!
