Coffee is decent… but the price is misleading. Listed price for an iced latte on the menu is $5.35. I visited on Oct 5th. Ordered an iced latte with oat milk ($0.60) and caramel syrup ($0.70) which should add up to a total of $6.65. Sales tax in Athens, GA is 8% so the total should be $7.18. However the total I was told to pay was $7.49 including a service fee of $0.20 (see attached). I really hate it when companies try to upcharge without being fully transparent about their pricing.
Untitled Thoughts
This is my third or fourth time coming to Buvez, and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is calm, idyllic, perfect. The drinks (of which I’ve tried several) always fill me with warmth (I tend to the hot beverages) and are the right balance of flavorful without being too sweet. And today, I ordered a Chicado on Ciabatta. Oh my word. By far one of the best sandwich’s I’ve ever had. So filling, so flavorful. And of course, the staff are lovely, helpful, and ever patient. By far one of my fav coffee shops in all of Athens 💛

Wow, I was extremely disappointed in the quality of this coffee shop. It has a cute vibe and good reviews so I had high hopes. But when I received my matcha latte and avocado toast, I was in shock. Selling avocado toast that looks like this? Just a piece of white bread with a little bit of avocado haphazardly added on. No toppings, no seasoning. Then, in my matcha latte, there was no matcha to be found, just a cup of iced milk. I’m not one to write reviews normally but wow was I so upset that I had just spent $17 here.

I used to love this place but I don't know what is going on with the tea quality and pricing. The matcha and chai used to be good. Now the matcha just tastes like milk and even the barista admits that Sips has better chai. And they charge close to $7! The coffee prices have not seen similar sharp increases. What happened??

Nice little cafe in Athens with a small venue for local bands and a bar. Great service! Interesting small menu. Lots of fun for after dinner.

I have been to Buvez a handful of times, I regularly order lattes and find that they taste off from what I have ordered. Orders are frequently incorrect, today my iced 'for here' order was served in to go cups and sat on the bar melting for 10 minutes as a result. The order was also incorrect and the drinks did not have any syrup that was paid for. When brought up the syrup was poured into the cold drinks and did not incorporate due to error by the barista. I was refused a remake with a snark filled "I can stir it around for you but it'll just settle at the bottom". I will not be returning or reccomending this coffee house to anyone. When you are spending $20 on coffees that you can make correctly at your house this service is unacceptable.

Starting this off with I LOVE the strumpet sandwich specifically and the muffletta. I walked in today hoping to order one only to be told they are changing the menu again and don’t sell them anymore. What I don’t understand about buvez is they KEEP removing the best menu items. If you’ve been coming here for a minute you remember the baguette with prosciutto and fig jam. They took that away from me too but all good, I settled for the strumpet. Now that is being RIPPED away from me as well. Those sandwiches w prosciutto and fig jam were the main pretty much only reason I came here. Stop removing the best menu items yall fr. Now I’m sad, strumpetless, and have to write this review all while having nothing to pair my chai latte with. Please hear my cry for help and bring back the baguette or at least the strumpet.

I am obsessed with this place. My roomate and i discovered the strawberry milk matcha and haven’t stayed away since. the vibes, the service, the people…. i’m not sure how much more i can hype it up.

We delighted over a french toast latte and the banana bread latte. Off the chart good. Hand made syrups and smooth brew. Now I just wonder how the expresso martini is….to be continued! Hidden Gem!
