I stayed in a tiny house at Bleu Canoe for a week. It was one of the most peaceful and relaxing places I have ever been. The 3 mile loop trail on the property is beautiful. The restaurant on site is excellent. There’s a general store right around the corner that has supplies. The entire process was contactless. I will be staying here again.

My wife and I stayed in a tiny cabin from May 15 to May 18. We loved it. The location was convenient for us to explore Helen and Clayton. The restaurant was amazing! We ate there two out of three nights. Highly recommended.

Amazingly tranquil and cozy cabin to stay in while exploring the area. Close to some gorgeous waterfalls and places like Helen, Anna Ruby Falls and Dillard. The restaurant is a must visit while there. The stars were amazing thanks to the location being far enough from the towns to have clear dark skies, be sure to have a good flashlight. Will definitely be back. If you’re interested in local history, there is a historic cemetery next door.

Popped in for a weekend stay. Check in was a breeze and everything was as it should be. The restaurant next door is delicious and there is a small restaurant 1 minute up the road that serves a great country breakfast.

Had a wonderful stay in Rhododendron! It was perfect for our small children and us! (Our furry pup too!) it was fun to walk around and plenty of things for us to do!” We added a few fun things for our kids, like the s’mores and birthday package, just the little extras that mean a lot! We will def stay again! Thanks to everyone there for a great experience!

Stayed in the Dogwood tiny house for two nights. I liked the spacious interior design, which was surprising for a tiny house. The cabin was clean and cozy, and it had all the essentials you might need. The bed was comfortable, and there was a grill and fire pit outside. It was easy to access the lake and surrounding towns, including Helen, GA. The only downside was that some of the breakfast items provided were expired, and no dish washing sponge was in the kitchen.

Stayed 2 nights in Sycamore for Valentine’s Day with my husband and golden retriever. Nice accommodations! Campfire both nights and walked to the field to look at stars. Had Vday dinner at the restaurant. Delicious! Reasonable drive to Helen/Unicoi, downtown Clarkesville, and Tallulah Gorge. Wonderful weekend. Would highly recommend!

We stayed in honeysuckle for a couple days during the week. It was small but obviously the point is to go outside and explore the area! We grilled both days and had a small campfire our last night. We did a lot of hiking in the parks nearby and visited the historic graveyard next to the cabins. It was a great stay, we were lucky to have the area to ourselves pretty much so it was nice and quiet. We definitely had a great time and will be coming back again sometime!

October 10-13, 2024 (casual couple, mid 50s) If your goal is quiet and getting away from all the connectedness…. This place is perfect. To state it candidly… I’m not a fan of camping, but I like being in nature. I’d prefer not to move my entire household out into the woods to enjoy the outdoors. So Bleu Canoe is a great middle ground of full service hotel/lodge and full on DIY camping. I was looking for a safe, clean place to spend the weekend with my wife for our anniversary. BC showed up in a vrbo search and what attracted me was the affordable accommodations and on site restaurant. BC accommodations are great beds, clean hot showers and just enough thoughtful touches to make the experience a joy. It’s located just off of Lake Burton and affords surprisingly easy travel to innumerable outdoor attractions and small towns…seriously, the nearness of several destinations was astounding. I recommend daytrips to Highlands/Franklin/Cashiers, NC , and Clayton/Dahlonega/Dawsonville, GA. Lakes Burton, Seed and Rabun are close. Many hiking trails and waterfalls dot the area as well. We stayed 3 nights in the Seed cabin. This place can sleep 4, but the common area in the cabin is tight. 2 adults and 2 kids could work, but 4 adults might feel snug. This is more space than the tiny cabins, so keep that in mind if you’re weighing options of a tiny cabin or the larger cabins.. While there, we saw older couples and families alike enjoying the property. The restaurant/bar are a HUGE bonus. The end of each day was spent there either enjoying a great meal or simple drinks and a snack watching college football. The place is a draw for locals…a pretty good sized crowd populated each evening. It’s a first come/first served place. No reservations. Plan accordingly. Bottom line…it was a great experience for us and gave us exactly what we were looking for, a low effort escape into the mountains. We had a wonderful time there and plan to visit again soon.

By chance, my husband and I recently stayed at the Bleu Canoe Campground in the Laurel tiny cabin. It was a last minute booking on a holiday weekend and we needed pet-friendly. The location was great for where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do. The tiny cabin was indeed tiny. It was very clean and had all the essentials as listed (coffee pot, microwave, small refrigerator, breakfast items, coffee, creamer, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, toilet paper). There were also dishes and silverware (2 of each) and some assorted kitchen items and of course, linens. The bed was comfortable but the curtains didn't cover the entire window and were very thin. If you're not an early riser, that could be a problem because it was very light inside the cabin early in the morning. While the pictures of Laurel show a chair and a bench inside, we had neither. There was literally nowhere to sit inside, other than the bed. There was a small bistro table outside and two Adirondack chairs near the fire pit. The only picnic table we saw was up in the wooded area beside Laurel and looked like a holdover from a long closed down actual campground. There are also several buildings that appear to be leftovers from a long ago camp, plus an abandoned looking, overgrown cemetery nearby. It’s kind of a quirky place. And then, there's the restaurant...wow, what a unexpected find that was (I gave a separate review for the restaurant). The food and drinks were amazing, as was the service. Our tiny cabin and the restaurant were both pet-friendly. And North Georgia…wow, what a beautiful place. All in all, we had a great time at Bleu Canoe Campground and will probably go back, though we'd love to see a chair of some kind inside Laurel the next time!
