From my friend and church member: My Name May Not Be Job Until trouble knocks on our door, we can't feel the pain. One thousand umbrellas won't save us from the torrential rain. When trouble comes boldly that we never could expect, Somehow it helps to keep our compassion and humility in check. "Why am I sent here with this thorn in my side? Why do I suffer the cold with no place to abide? Why must so much sorrow pass before my eyes? In my comfort and wealth is Christ's own suffering made lies? My name may not be Job, but I've got to understand. Suffering that produces deliverance is part of God's plan. If I can't feel compassion, then tell me who will? Each man with his own problems; each climbs his own hill. If my comfort is too flagrant will I not surely forget? Perhaps this is the reason we're not raptured yet. "How much longer Lord?" is definitely one approach. But will I surrender my seat in first class in exchange for one in coach? Ease and comfort has become all the rage, If you ain't got something you're nobody, written on society's page. But what about Jesus? What riches did He purposely leave behind? He remains our great example and shall be for all time. So take up your cross, and think it not strange. The price of helping someone else must still be arranged through the blood of Christ flowing through our lives."
