This is such a nice little gem within the city of Athens. There's trails to walk, plenty of picnic space, a shelter area with picnic tables, good and clean bathroom facilities and much wildlife. I've come several times now and plan to return more. It's a good place for a hike and to test yourself on some of the trails. If you're like me, you can be more adventurous and find some of the off-tail gems and follow deer trails to really get the wilderness feel.

This is a decent little park that consists of a large walking trail that runs along side the middle Oconee river. The park is free and has free parking as well. It does have a spot to launch kayaks or canoes and fish. There was plenty of parking when we went. There are bathrooms, a 911 call box, picnic tables, a couple pavilions and walking trails that are nice and would definitely be nice to walk your dog! If you get too hot, you can get in the river and cool off. There is also what appears to be old Hydro electric facilities that appear to not be in use anymore. This park was gifted to the people of the state of Georgia from Georgia power electric company.

Very relaxing and serene, was great to see everyone with collars and leashes on their pets. Loved seeing the kids playing in the flowing creek. Students reading, sitting on rocks on the river banks. Everyone minding their biz, yet very pleasant.

This was a lovely hike next to a river and up through the woods. My children really wanted to wade in the water but because there are sewage pipes above some of the creek wading spots and manholes that smell bad, we figured it probably wasn't safe to go in the water. There aren't many people in the park so it's a nice, quiet hike. We even saw a turtle trying to lay eggs!

I brought my daughter and our dog out here to walk around one afternoon since we just moved into the area. The park had ample parking despite there being several other cars parked here already. There was a pleasant little road to walk down with ample area to let our dog run free and play around in the water. Everyone we ran into while we were walking was incredibly nice. We will be making the part of our normal weekly routine.

Super nice park, little hiking trails, with a creek and a river. You can take your dog for a hike, have a picnic or just go and relax. Earlier in the day it’s not too busy and really quiet but by afternoon it got pretty busy.

It would not be too hard for the city to maintain this park before it starts to slide. It would be nice if Athens Clarke County would pressure wash areas were people sit and eat and talk. It’s time to add a little gravel to the walkway as it can turn into mud pretty quickly. And who does the landscaping here? How hard would it be to blow off leaves in the picnic area and other Corridors. The amount of poop this park is from dogs is insane. It really needs to be kept clean elsewhere.
