I started taking drum lessons back in October 2024 with Jeremy. I had such a good first lesson that I knew I had to come back immediately after that initial lesson. Jeremy is extremely knowledgeable and meets you at your knowledge level. I can only speak to the drum lessons, but they have 2 drum kits next to each other in a back sound-proof room, so he can show you something and let you try it out next to him. The sessions are very laid-back and he made me feel very relaxed getting things wrong and learning the right way. Since he knows multiple instruments, he often pulls out his bass or guitar and plays along with you. He teaches from a list of songs you know and are familiar with. My favorite genre is metal or alt rock so far I've learned Metallica, Fallout Boy, Paramore, Breaking Benjamin, among others. The lessons are a really great deal in my opinion, my price comes out to $100 for two 1-hour lessons. Can't beat that. They're very flexible on time and dates, and if you're running late or something else, he's very understanding. I couldn't recommend this place and instructor more. If you're on the edge of thinking of learning an instrument, take the leap and just hit the contact button on the website. I didn't regret it and these lessons are the highlight of my week.

Jeremy and his team at ASM are the best! Very family friendly and good for all ages. I'm learning to play guitar at age 42 and will be performing in my first ensemble in June. If you are thinking about taking lessons I highly recommend stopping by to meet them and see their place in person.

I started taking guitar lessons last summer as a desperate attempt to have some balance in my life, and Jeremy has been nothing short of phenomenal. He's so skilled and clear in his instruction, he meets me where I am (whether I've practiced or not!) but still subversively pushes me a bit further each time, and is just a wonderful, joyful person. He *never* makes me feel bad on weeks when I can't practice, and is so quick to celebrate my tiny successes and show me the next trick. No matter how I walk in to my lessons, I leave feeling happier, lighter, and like I *might* actually be able to play the guitar one day. I can't recommend Jeremy and the Athens School of Music highly enough!

Jeremy and the ASM team are wonderful. My daughter (age 13) and I both take lessons. Last summer we performed together on stage at Hendershots in a Jazz ensemble. This was a dream come true for me. My daughter loves ASM and her musical skills and self confidence have grown tremendously as a result. If you have any curiosity about music give Jeremy call. You will not be disappointed.
