I’ve been going to Athens Church for a while but recently moved to the Beechwood location and joined a serve team this past spring. I love serving here, especially greeting people in the morning. It’s such a joy to welcome others into a space that’s so warm and inviting. The community is incredible, and being involved has helped me grow in my faith and connect with people who care. Athens Church truly feels like a place where everyone belongs.

It is always an amazing day here at Athens Church Beechwood! I always feel welcomed and seen whenever I walk into the doors of this church when I come back from college once a month. Athens church has been a home away from home to me for years. I hope people can feel the same love I have felt for years coming to this church with my family.

At one of the roughest times of my life, I joined a small group at Athens Church. Those leaders and group absolutely changed my life and will be in my life forever. This is genuinely my home away from home. Serving here and getting connected was by far the greatest blessing of college. (I also met my soon to be husband here! ;) ) Praise be to God

I’ve been attending Athens Church for a while now and have even recommended it to many of my friends and peers, encouraging them to come as well. However, after today’s service (10/05/25), I don’t think I will be returning. During the sermon, the pastor made a very disturbing reference to Erika Kirk, referring to her as a “good Christian.” I don’t believe church should be a place where political figures are upheld as moral examples especially someone like Erika Kirk, considering the harmful ideals often associated with her late husband (may he rest in peace). Neither of them represents what a “good Christian” stands for, as their words and actions have often reflected hate, racism, homophobia, and hypocrisy among others. That is not what Christ’s love is about. As a person of color and a Christian, I no longer feel welcome. Very disappointing.

Athens Church has been my family’s church home for over 15 years. It has been a great place for our girls to grow up surrounded by people who have supported their faith journey. The children’s environments were exactly what our girls needed through the different stages of their lives. I am so thankful for Athens Church!

We love this church, and seeing how it changes so many lives inspires me to invite my friends and family. It was my son who kept encouraging me to come, but at the time, I didn’t feel ready. I remember hearing him talk about Athens Church with such understanding — something you don’t expect from a 12-year-old — and that’s what made me decide to go with him. On my first day, I was struggling with depression, work stress, and personal problems. But that day, it felt like the message was meant just for me.

I’ve been attending Athens Church since I was an undergrad at UGA - now I’m in a much different stage of life as a wife and mom. This church has felt like home every step of my journey. We now attend the new Beechwood location, and it’s absolutely wonderful!

Fantastic relational church! We especially love the family environment for our 18 month old. We feel safe and comfortable with those who love on him so my husband and I are able to enjoy services together.

If you’re looking for a place where you’ll feel truly welcomed and cared for, this is it. It’s just a short drive from the UGA campus, and although it’s tucked away behind the Beechwood shops, you’ll be glad you found it. The people here are warm and down-to-earth, and the whole atmosphere is relaxed — no pressure, no stress. We were a little worried about parking at first, but it turns out there’s plenty of it. Definitely not what we expected—in the best way possible.

Our home church, where we love to worship, all are welcome and truth is spoken where grace is felt. Our middle school and teens love Daniel, Stephen is ready with open arms and small group is where a bigger church and two services make it smaller and community close.
