My daughter and I absolutely loved our Allegro classes with Ms. Marian when she was two and three years old. We had experienced Ms. Cathy’s drop-in classes a couple of times during the summer and participated in some of the local events that Cathy held for the Athens community. We always had so much fun singing and dancing with other families at these events that I knew my daughter would love the weekly class. We had to move from Athens to Illinois for my husband’s job in 2020, and because of the pandemic, Cathy and Marian held classes online. We were so glad we were able to participate online every week, and our Allegro classes were such a bright spot in our lives that fall and winter while we were isolated at home, far away from our friends and family. My daughter is 8 now, and we still keep in touch with Ms. Marian and Ms. Cathy on Facebook. We are so grateful to them for bringing joy and the love of music into our daughter’s life when she was a toddler!

We really love music class. My son is 3 and we have been going for 2 years. I feel like he gets so much out of the whole experience! We just love how you get to play the music from class at home! Such an engaging and enriching experience!

I cannot recommend Ms. Cathy's music class enough! We have been going with our 2 year old for two sessions now, and it is truly the highlight of her week. Ms. Cathy is engaging, friendly, and fun. It is also clear that she is experienced with kids and knows how to work effectively with different types of learners and personalities. She cultivates a warm and positive environment that allows both kids and adults to come as they are and participate in whatever way makes the most sense for them on a given day. The classes are also a rich learning and sensory experience: I can see my child building vocabulary, developing gross and fine motor skills, and having her sense of responsibility nurtured (Ms. Cathy always invites kids to get their own instruments and them put them away-- with a bum, bum, bum!). Even if you can't commit to making a class regularly, try to stop by one of Ms. Cathy's events around town, like at AthFest KidsFest or one of the Friday Kids' Nights at Maepole. Ms. Cathy is a national treasure and Athens is so lucky to have her.

Allegro Music and Miss Cathy are the absolute best!!! We have been enjoying music class for the last 4 years; both of my kids adore it. The songs are engaging and so much fun, and the teachers are so warm and wonderful. Miss Cathy somehow knows every single kid’s name! It’s the most wonderful setting for kids to learn, play, explore, and meet friends. Highly highly recommend!!

Allegro Music is simply the best! My first son (now 7) starting going to music class when he was 2- I had struggled taking him to story time and other group activities because he was just so excited to be with other kids and could never sit still. Miss Cathy's class gave him the freedom to be busy and still participate. And over time he caught on and participated more and more! I was so grateful!! Fast forward a few years and two more kids and I signed up my baby girl (also 2). Miss Cathy remembered our family and my kids names! She always makes us feel so welcome!

All of my three kids enjoyed Allegro with Miss Cathy! It was super fun! The classes moved quickly through a list of activities like playing rhythms with wooden sticks and shakers, singing and dancing with scarves, rolling balls to music, etc. The variety really kept my kids engaged and happy. I would recommend to anyone looking for something to do with their littles. We love Miss Cathy!

Allegro means the world to our family! We live a county away, but when my youngest was a toddler I wanted to get out of the house with her and for us to have a fun activity to do with each other. I found Allegro and we started driving out to Athens once a week for music class with Ms. Cathy! I have 3 kiddos now, 7 years later— they’ve all been to music class! I will tell anyone who asks that we willingly drive the 35-40 minutes for THIS music class. All the instructors are so fun and engaging. They remember everyone’s names which is wildly impressive 😄 my mom (grandma) has had the opportunity to come a few times with us and was so impressed by how personable Ms. Cathy was and how much fun we all had! 10/5 stars, truly!
